Ritchie Torres
You restored this change (I think) on the page - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ritchie_Torres&diff=prev&oldid=1345621412. But nothing in the body says he is "known for" his views on Israel which strikes me as a WP:BLP concern. And out of the vastness of the body and all of his positions that it covers, this one alone being listed separately in the lead is WP:UNDUE and goes against WP:LEADFOLLOWSBODY. What is the basis for it being there? Davefelmer (talk) 03:27, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message. Since there's been a robust discussion of this question in the talk page, I'd first point you there.
- To answer your question directly, though, there is significant news coverage of Ritchie Torres' views on Israel. Indeed, coverage of Torres' outspoken views on Israel distinguish the notability of that issue from others, such as his far less known thoughts on the capital gains tax rate or on U.S. immigration policy. Because his position on Israel received significant notable source coverage, the brief mention in the lead is indeed DUE.
- WP:LEADFOLLOWSBODY: The most extensive and sourced section in the body is Torres' outspoken support for Israel. Mihir.pethe1 (talk) 04:32, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
