Question from Ted Barton (18:46, 26 February 2026)

I want to delete the picture of me with a person that has no relation to me in any way and just have an individual picture. --Ted Barton (talk) 18:46, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Ted Barton, thanks for reaching out!
The photo you're referring to, I assume, is on Wikipedia? All photos that appear on Wikipedia are hosted on Wikimedia Commons.
You may find it helpful to review their policy on photographs of identifiable people. Let me know if I can help further! SSR07 (talk) 00:23, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
Thank you but wondering is there any way possible to have the current photo replaced with an individual picture of myself. Do I have to get someone to do that? I was able to delete it but then it came back. It should just be a picture of me so if you could help me understand what I have to do to make that happen I would very much appreciate it. Ted Barton (talk) 16:48, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
Hey @Ted Barton, I would recommend uploading a photo to Wikimedia commons of just yourself (Upload Wizard) and then suggesting in the talk page of your Wikipedia page that it be added. A photo won't be removed (except if it goes against our policies, see above) unless there's a better option. I hope this helps. SSR07 (talk) 02:31, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will give that a try. Ted Barton (talk) 08:14, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Penpalstoday (18:17, 28 February 2026)

Hello SSR07! Would love your guidance in my discussion concerning my recent edits to Dominique O'Rourke's page. You can see the discussion here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Penpalstoday#Welcome! --Penpalstoday (talk) 18:17, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Penpalstoday, thanks for joining Wikipedia! It's great that you've decided to add to the corpus of knowledge and have seemingly invested the time to read through some of our policies and meaningfully engaged in them—that's more than most do!
I find your first round of edits pretty innocuous; you add some extra decimal points and move phrasing around a little bit. If anything I see it as a little unnecessary and perhaps lowering the stylistic quality of the writing. You changed "earned" to "garnered" for instance, leading to the word being repeated twice. It's a little thing, but there are a couple of examples.
The second round definitely has some problems, and I understand why they were reverted. Primary sources should generally be avoided, particularly those that resemble blogs. We'd really prefer sources to be high-quality secondary sources: from reputable news sites, journals, books, etc. You mention the Carney example—It's different to cite an authorized publication of a speech on the PM's website than to cite an Instagram reel or a Reddit post with a Twitter screenshot. Linking to the actual Tweet instead of a screenshot of the Tweet on Reddit is marginally better (both websites are strongly discouraged for use as sources) but it would be best to get a secondary source treating that Tweet, or an official transcript if obtainable (a la Carney). If you're building an argument (as opposed to just supplementing it) with these primary sources, you're probably breaking our original research guidelines. And, I should add, if you don't find those secondary sources, it likely means the subtopic you're writing about doesn't meet our standards for notability (WP:UNDUE). Unfortunately, even if you think this discourse is important in Canadian politics right now (which, my two cents, I don't really buy is the case) it's not really up to us to make that determination—The spirit of due/undue weight is to reflect the world, which in turn is reflected in secondary sources.
Next steps: I would suggest you incorporate some of what you've been reading about into a revised edit for the page in your personal sandbox (follow the link here), which you can then circulate for further notes before ultimately adding it to the page. Thanks for your commitment and effort!!
SSR07 (talk) 20:08, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I'll heed your sandbox suggestion, while considering all the discussion here and in the original thread. For now, I've made these edits while thinking about the sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dominique_O%27Rourke&diff=prev&oldid=1340972511 Penpalstoday (talk) 20:31, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
How are we looking on this? User:Penpalstoday/sandbox
Secondary sources used, which I believe addresses the many of the concerns raised. The use of the Youtube link for the "Guelph All Candidates Meeting" was indicated in the included secondary source, https://www.guelphtoday.com/2025-federal-election-news/guelph-candidates-talk-tough-on-crime-guns-and-trump-tariffs-10529700, which directs the reader to the recording at the end of the article. Guelph Today is an Asset of Village Media. Penpalstoday (talk) 01:19, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
Hello @Penpalstoday, thanks again for your hard work. Some notes:
  1. "two ways" --> "two way"
  2. "has paused" --> "paused"
  3. Adding other non-Levant topics under the "Time in parliament" heading is great. It does a lot of the (un)due weight work that your previous edits were maybe missing.
  4. It's not my area of expertise, so I don't know the convention, but you may run into some trouble with other editors about the genocide sentence. I would say leave it in and then respond if someone contests it.
  5. Source #10 is probably as good as a reliable primary source as you're going to get. Good find!
  6. Don't link to Vote Palestine
  7. I'm a little confused by source #12. It doesn't mention O'Rourke?
  8. Source #13 looks good
  9. Source #11 isn't going to cut it, unfortunately. Even if a youtube video is linked in a reliable source (as this one is), that doesn't mean we can use it on Wikipedia. A news source might link to Twitter, too, but the same applies. Watching the video and finding clips to support your claim counts as original research.
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear on the whole (not ready to publish yet), but this is a momentous improvement over your previous submission. Keep at it and don't get discouraged! SSR07 (talk) 16:53, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Kajaljot Bawa on User:Kajaljot Bawa (15:40, 6 March 2026)

Hello --Kajaljot Bawa (talk) 15:40, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Kajaljot Bawa! Thanks for joining Wikipedia. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with regarding Wikipedia or its policies. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 16:50, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Zacharyb5 (08:10, 8 March 2026)

Hi. On the page 'Pauline Hanson' I recognised a lack of neutrality in that it is written she "has adopted Christian values in her speeches and political rhetoric." The term 'Christian values' is difficult to make a claim on, without stating a definition for what 'Christian values' means. Would it be better for me to remove this altogether or to replace it with, "she has appealed to the conservative Christians in her speeches and political rhetoric" with a link to 'Christian right' or something else. Thanks so much, Zac --Zacharyb5 (talk) 08:10, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Zacharyb5, thanks for reaching out! You have a good instinct: That sentence, though not necessarily egregious, definitely could be improved. The key in revising phrases like this is not to start from what you think it should say, but rather what the source itself says. If we're sticking with the source already present, I think your proposed revision reflects the content well. Maybe you could add "despite being an atheist", because that's the context in which it's brought up in the article. Ideally, though, you might want to go hunting for an article that goes a little more in depth on her use of Christian rhetoric (the article currently cited only has a couple sentences). I hope this helps; don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions! SSR07 (talk) 17:57, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
I went looking for other articles but all I found was https://australiainstitute.org.au/post/imported-the-american-far-right-origins-of-pauline-hansons-anti-islam-rhetoric/ which states "“Investigation of origins of One Nation’s statements on Islam reveals a political and intellectual debt to far-right right-wing groups in the United States, especially American Evangelist Christian opponents of Islam and a handful of obscure right-wing anti-Islam propagandists. These assertions have attracted little media scrutiny to date,” Would this be appropriate? according to Wikipedia, "The Australia Institute states that it takes a bipartisan approach to research, but it has been described as "progressive" or "left-leaning"". If so, how would I go about it?
In addition to this I found an official statement from Kanishka Raffel, the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney (Sydney is where the Anglican church is very strong) condemning comments she made that their are "no good Muslims". Would it be appropriate to add this in some way? If so, how would I go about it? Zacharyb5 (talk) 22:22, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
@Zacharyb5, thank you for your research into this! Two things to note:
  1. When you don't find coverage of a topic in the secondary sources, that means that it—the topic—probably isn't notable enough (see also Wikipedia:Undue) to include in an article. Here, I think you have a borderline case: It looks like there are some secondary sources and at least one primary source (the archbishop's statement). Not a ton of coverage, but it probably warrants a sentence or two in the article.
  2. Building off of the above, Wikipedia generally prefers secondary sources (this is part of our Wikipedia:No original research policy). So, that means we prefer a news outlet covering the archbishop's statement over the statement itself. If you can't find a secondary source, or you particularly want to quote directly from the statement, you can, but it's not ideal.
How you choose to weave these threads together is up to you, and I encourage you to take a stab at it. If you'd like, you're welcome to draft something in your Sandbox, and I can look over it before you publish it to the article's page. For contentious topics like this, it's important, too, to remember encyclopedic neutrality. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 16:45, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. I would love to send a draft to the Sandbox Zacharyb5 (talk) 02:29, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi @SSR07 Have you found some time to check out my sandbox? Zacharyb5 (talk) 04:59, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Hey @Zacharyb5, my apologies--I didn't realize you had finished a draft. I've added your sandbox to my watchlist so I shouldn't miss anything again. I think you're ready to uththis on the article page with a couple twaeks. Feel free to ping me to look at another draft or just go ahead and publish it. I trust your judgement! SSR07 (talk) 15:19, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
  1. Wikilink "atheist" as in the original
  2. Is there a way to make the second sentence stronger? For some reason I can't access the Daily Declaration source (might be an IP address thing? I'm based in the US), but it seems to suggest she's been accused of hate speech. If that's the case, it's probably something you want to mention.
SSR07 (talk) 15:19, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
Kanishka Raffel did not directly accuse Hanson of hate speech but rather called her words "foolish and dangerously divisive". His broader statement was titled "We must reject hateful words and threats of violence” and was directed at the issue of Hanson as well as threats of violence against a mosque in Lakemba not by Hanson. How should I best update the sentence in that regard? Zacharyb5 (talk) 10:44, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
The title of the Daily Declaration article is highly 'spun'. It is gently written but responds to Hanson from a very politically conservative perspective. Is it okay to use this as a source? Must I write it differently? Zacharyb5 (talk) 10:47, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
@Zacharyb5, ah—Got it. Maybe you could cite this source instead? Might be better to go straight to the primary source in this case as it sounds like this news site isn't super reliable. Do you have a source on Raffel's status as a "Christian moderate"? That might be good to identify. You might also want to make mention of his title as archbishop of Sydney for the Anglican Church of Australia. SSR07 (talk) 04:47, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi @SSR07 I found a more balanced opinion piece to cite and edited the sentence in my Sandbox that I'd love for you to check out. Are opinion pieces preferred to primary sources if they are not too far to either the right or the left? Or is it only non-opinion articles that are prefered to primary sources. I also linked 'Anglican' to 'Anglican Church of Australia', should I instead change it to link to 'Anglican Church'?. I could not find any sources which used the word 'moderate' to describe Raffel. Is there a better way I could describe him, or is it okay to say, "more moderate Christians such as the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney Kanishka Raffel" because his stance is inherently more moderate than the previously described politically conservative Christians? Zacharyb5 (talk) 03:47, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Hey @Zacharyb5, this looks good! Your linking is right and this opinion piece should be better than a primary source. It's fine to leave moderate uncited (unless it's challenged, of course). I think you're right that it's self-evident. This looks good to publish unless you have further concerns! SSR07 (talk) 14:42, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Thanks :)) all published Zacharyb5 (talk) 07:14, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
@Zacharyb5, congratulations! I know this was a slog (the first is the hardest)...please feel free to reach back out if anything else comes up. I hope you continue to contribute to Wikipedia! SSR07 (talk) 17:55, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
I'm considering editing Wikipedia more often, and I was wondering if you could point me to what the best articles to read on Wikipedia's policy would be so I can be confident I am not violating it. Also, I read on the article 'Brisbane', "Brisbane is a global centre for research and innovation". Is this claim okay? The two sources cited don't feel authoritative enough. They are just two opinions who may have vested interests in the innovation potential of Brisbane. Zacharyb5 (talk) 11:04, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
Hey @Zacharyb5! I'm glad you're choosing to stay! I never read (and still haven't) the entire corpus of Wikipedia's guidelines before I started contributing. Instead, editing and looking up relevant guidelines as you need them will prove more fruitful. That being said, there are some pages that are helpful to keep in mind generally, many of which you've already seen. I would start by reviewing Wikipedia's five pillars. Then read the (general sections of) the policies on verifiability; notability; and neutrality. You might also like to skim the mammoth MoS, the Wikipedia Manual of Style. If you have a more specific question, as you do about the Brisbane article, you can then go looking for something more granular. Wikipedia is 25 years old this year so practically everything you can think of has been addressed in some form, either through a guideline or through an essay. You can always reach out for help with being pointed in the right direction  :)
Re:Brisbane. The first thing you should note is that because the lead summarizes information elsewhere mentioned in the article, it should only have citations if what is being claimed is controversial (with an exception made for short articles that might not have anything other than a lead). It is a red flag, then, that the professed state as a research and innovation hub in Brisbane is not really addressed elsewhere in the article. I would agree with you that the claim is poorly supported by the citations in the lead, too. Maybe the claim could be reworked to be somewhat more specific, maybe mentioning its status as a global city, a claim actually addressed in the body? You might also want to do a couple cold Google searches to see if you can find better sources that mention it being a "research and innovation hub". Ultimately, the choices are up to you as an editor! SSR07 (talk) 02:33, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Aheesch (20:15, 10 March 2026)

Create a page for website --Aheesch (talk) 20:15, 10 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Aheesch, thank you for reaching out! It looks like you may be looking for information about creating a Wikipedia article for a website? Please note a pair of things before you start:
  1. Wikipedia discourages people with a close association to a subject (if you own the website, or work for the company that does, say) from editing about the topic. See our policy on conflicts of interest here.
  2. Wikipedia has a relatively strict notability guideline for articles on its site—Not every website gets an article. Review the notability requirements for a web-related article here.
Once you have read these policies, understand them, and if you believe the article you would like to create adheres to them, see this page on how to get started. Please reach out with any further questions, I'm happy to help you along the way! Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 21:16, 10 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Oxpetals (04:27, 11 March 2026)

Hello, I don't intend to modify anything, I just want to know the origin of certain information placed in a band profile. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Sculpture. This article mentions that the group second LP (Forma & Feelings) was released in December 1969. However, this information is not publicly available in the references section. Could one of the contributors clarify the source of this article claim? Historically, the oldest evidence of this record dates back to 1970. The only possible mention of December 1969 comes from an encrypted Google Books file, "Records and Recording - Volume 13 - Page 12," which suggests this date. So, is Wikipedia referencing that magazine, or where else did they get that date from? --Oxpetals (talk) 04:27, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Oxpetals, thanks for reaching out! This is a question best posed on the Love Sculpture talk page, where you can reach editors who "watch" that page. Unfortunately, a lot of content on Wikipedia is unsourced. That doesn't necessarily means its untrue, just that there's no record of where the information was pulled from (if anywhere). In this case, though, if you can't find a source, it may well be wrong. I'd suggest you post on the talk page and see if you get any responses. If not, and you feel you've done a deep search, feel free to Be Bold and change the date with a reliable source. I'm sorry to give such an unsatisfying answer—please feel free to reach out with any further/other questions. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 04:35, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Junie Skeppstedt (07:03, 19 March 2026)

I needed to expand the information on this page it’s very basic . Also could I add a photo of Pat McGlynn? --Junie Skeppstedt (talk) 07:03, 19 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Junie Skeppstedt, thanks for reaching out! It's great that you would like to expand the content on the article for Pat McGlynn. However, any information you add must be backed up by a reliable source. This is a principle on Wikipedia called verifiability. The fact that you know him personally or lead his fan club (as you mentioned on your talk page) is not relevant. Photos you own the right to or are in the public domain can be added on Wikimedia commons. See a guide for uploading a photo here. Please read through these pages before making another contribution to avoid it getting taken down, and feel free to reach out with any questions. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 02:14, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from GUestDwayne (10:07, 20 March 2026)

How do you edit the infobox? Im trying to fix a mistake on the Lamborghini Countach LPI-800-770 hp + 34 hp isnt 803 An if i try to edit it the box turns blue and if you press the edit button on the bottom of the screen a window pops up and i dont know how to edit the infobox. --GUestDwayne (talk) 10:07, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey @GUestDwayne, thanks for reaching out! You're on the right track—In the visual editor, the way to edit the infobox is through that pop-up window. Each characteristic has a field and then you change the content in the field to change the infobox. So, you would find the horsepower field and change the number. Make sure that's supported by a source elsewhere in the article. Alternatively, you could edit in the source editor where each field is a line of code. See details on how to do that here. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 21:30, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Zacharyb5

Hi. I realised on my previous edit I wrote, "Hanson is an atheist but has appealed to politically conservative Christians in her speeches and political rhetoric.[1] She has also drawn criticism from more moderate Christians such as the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney Kanishka Raffel over her rhetoric on Muslims.[2]" However I only provided reference to one Christian, not Christians. Would it be wrong for me to change it to "Hanson is an atheist but has appealed to politically conservative Christians in her speeches and political rhetoric.[1] She has also drawn criticism from more moderate Christians over her rhetoric on Muslims.[2]+new citation: https://eternitynews.com.au/current/if-sonia-kruger-and-pauline-hanson-can-talk-about-muslims-so-can-christians/" Zacharyb5 (talk) 14:07, 21 March 2026 (UTC)

@SSR07 Zacharyb5 (talk) 14:29, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi @Zacharyb5, I appreciate your attention to detail on this! You're welcome to add another citation if you'd like, but it shouldn't be necessary. One example is enough because your phrasing is a kind of figure of speech, if you know what I mean. FYI: Give me 48 hours or so on getting back to you. Sometimes I'm drawn away by other things for a little bit. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 22:06, 22 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Sociologist86 (09:53, 25 March 2026)

Hello, just to introduce myself, I'm Lesley, I'm a sociologist based in the UK. I'd like to begin editing when and where I can help. Any advice would be much appreciated. My interests are social science, geography, certain historical topics. Many thanks, Lesley --Sociologist86 (talk) 09:53, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Sociologist86 (Lesley), thanks so much for reaching out! If you're interested in editing around particular content areas, I would suggest checking out the relevant WikiProjects (Sociology ; Geography ; History). WikiProjects connect volunteers around a base of articles relevant to the topic that they then work together to improve. You'll find people there that can answer more particular questions you might have about editing a geography article, for example. Going to each project's "assessment" page (here's the sociology one) will let you see the corpus of articles organized by their quality and importance. So, you might begin by editing the "start" class + "high" importance articles, those that are important but in need of work. I'd recommend scanning the Five pillars and our policies on Neutral point of view; Verifiability; and Notability before you start editing. Answers to questions about writing style and formatting can be found on the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. I'm always here if you have any further questions. Cheers! Question from CelticScholast on Merneptah Stele (07:49, 3 April 2026)

Re: Mernetaph Stele

Hi there when I came across this article on the Mernetaph Stele I realised it was giving the impression that the artefact refers to the ancient land of All stark rather than Jacob (Israel) and/or the tribe, I think this is misleading, would you be able to offer some guidance and I can provide references to support if needed --CelticScholast (talk) 07:49, 3 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @CelticScholast, thanks for reaching out! Could you point me to the specific line you're referring to? Thanks! SSR07 (talk) 15:28, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
Thank you so much for the guidance,
in the description
1) Egypt's imperial possessions. It is sometimes referred to as the "Israel Stele" because a majority of scholars translate a set of hieroglyphs in line 27 as "Israel". Alternative translations have been advanced but are not widely accepted.
2) “ The stele represents the earliest textual reference to Israel and the only reference from ancient Egypt. It is one of four known inscriptions from the Iron Age that date to the time of and mention ancient Israel by name
it doesn’t clarify which ancient Israel it is referring too, the figure Israel (Jacob), the tribe (Israel) or the land.
3 Egyptologist’s interpret it (Israel) as referring to the tribe and given the Stele’s date this also makes more sense.
Egyptian hieroglyphs use determinatives use symbols that classify a word.
On the Merneptah Stele, the name “Israel” is written with the determinative for a people/tribe, which is “foreign people” determinative
A man + woman + three plural strokes. This is Used for ethnic groups, tribes, peoples without a defined state.
I think “the tribe of Israel” / Israel (the tribe) would be more appropriate and accurate, in all three instances of that early paragraph. (I’ve tried to mark these in bold - hope it works for you view!
In Description and Context
The final two lines mention a campaign in Canaan, where Merneptah says he defeated and destroyed Asqaluna, Gezer, Yanoam and “Israel”
again “the tribe of Israel” is less likely to be misinterpreted
My assertion is later addressed in the following paragraph
The "nine bows" is a term the Egyptians used to refer to their enemies; the actual enemies varied according to time and circumstance.Hatti and Ḫurru represented the entirety of Syro-Palestine, Canaan and Israel were smaller units within the region, -Canaan might here refer to the city of Gaza,- and Asqaluni, Gezer and Yanoam were cities within the region. Based on their determinatives, Canaan referred to the land whilst Israel referred to the people.
Above the graphic of the Stele’s Hieroglyphs it states “ The line which refers “to Israel” is below”
Again I think this should be clearly labelled “the tribe of Israel”
It’s my first time editing just want a bit of reassurance and maybe guidance that I am doing the right thing. I do think it is currently a bit confusing
Kind Regards
CS CelticScholast (talk) 08:15, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Hey @CelticScholast, thanks for taking the time to lay this out. It is indeed confusing with all the different versions of "israel" floating around. You are certainly welcome (and I think it would be appreciated) to clarify the references, particularly in the lead of the article. Look, too, to where some of the terms link. Some of the words link to the page for the Isrealites whereas others to "ancient Israel". For further support, I would recommend reaching out on the talk page of the article--I am not an expert on this terminology in the slightest. But for other editing/policy questions I'm happy to be your guide; don't hesitate to reach out. SSR07 (talk) 17:32, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Thank you so much I’m going to look through the tutorials and make sure I’m up to speed thank you again for the backup it’s very reassuring. I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right! CelticScholast (talk) 23:03, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Nicholas edblad (15:29, 5 April 2026)

I have kept my promise to you and all others, all that is left is to fulfill it --Nicholas edblad (talk) 15:29, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Nicholas edblad, I'm sorry...I don't understand what you're referring to. As your mentor on Wikipedia I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the site or its policies. SSR07 (talk) 17:22, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
The expression "you always fear what you dont understand" comes to mind.
sometimes, a lack of understanding results in fear, and sometimes fear creates a lack of understanding.
This is how fear is used as a bridge to understanding, rather than a tunnel to hate and suffering.
next time you feel fear, investigate where it comes from and you will approach understanding.
when you understand the source of your fear, you stop feeling it.
thank you for listening, even if you dont understand yet.
I will reach out again if I need your mentorship ~2026-21047-04 (talk) 19:25, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Sorry, but while this isn't really about editing,I have noticed that sometimes my view counter randomly resets itself and doesn't show the top pages I've edited. This has happend for the second time now and the view count updates eventually but it's really demotivating to see my views go from 135.000 to only around 75.000.It might be because some of my edits aren't being aknowledged or were just not helpful but I would like this fixed ifthe problem isn't on me. --GUestDwayne (talk) 21:26, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Hey @GUestDwayne, thanks for reaching out! I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to. Where exactly are you seeing this view counter? The only counter I'm familiar with is the edit counter in the preferences but if you point me in the right direction I can help troubleshoot! SSR07 (talk) 13:50, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Margaretayo (20:30, 7 April 2026)

Hello. I have found some outdated information on my organization's page. I would like to request that it be updated. What is the best way to go about this? Can I provide reference links for unaffiliated editors to use? --Margaretayo (talk) 20:30, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Margaretayo, thanks for reaching out. I appreciate you inquiring before taking any action--that doesn't always happen! On Wikipedia, we call your situation having a conflict of interest. To quote our policy, that's "a description of a situation, not a judgment about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith." The fact that you're asking here shows you have good faith! I would recommend reading through our policy on COIs, declaring your COI, and then proposing changes (with those reference links). You'll find the steps to both those last two action items in the policy. You might also find discussion on reliable and primary sources on Wikipedia helpful. I'm here to help if you have a question along the way; I recognize that it's a bit technical! SSR07 (talk) 23:32, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from MumuJBL on User talk:MumuJBL (21:05, 12 April 2026)

How do references exactly work? Do you showcase your work with it? --MumuJBL (talk) 21:05, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @MumuJBL, thanks for your question! References are used to cite sources for the claims made in an article. I would recommend reading through our policy on citations and reaching back out if you have any questions. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 21:15, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
Yes, i tried doing that, but i got flagged for "Promotional content". And i stated in an invisible comment: "This is not made for self-promotion, but rather to showcase my work and show some proof for the claims made. MumuJBL (talk) 21:17, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
Hey @MumuJBL, looking at your contributions, it seems you may have a misunderstanding of references and their purpose. You added what on Wikipedia we call "external links" to your page. References should consist of sources that are reliable and independent of the subject. None of your external links meet those requirements. Please read through the policy I linked in my previous comment; I think you'll find it helpful for understanding our requirements for references. Note also that your draft was declined not because of the lack of acceptable references (which is, of course, a significant problem) but because it failed our notability criteria for people. I suggest you have a read through that, too. I'm happy to answer further questions. SSR07 (talk) 03:01, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from BruinsIn7 on Derik Queen (14:35, 13 April 2026)

Note: BruinsIn7's mentor Qcne is away.

I've added the statistics template for this page, but I can't figure out how to attach the cells below it. Is there any chance you could help me? Thank you. --BruinsIn7 (talk) 14:35, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Hey @BruinsIn7, thanks for reaching out! Are you referring to your edits on Utah Mammoth? See this guide for information on how to format and edit tables. If that's still too complicated (completely understandable!) feel free to just send over the information and I'll try to add it myself. Thanks! SSR07 (talk) 15:14, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
I was referring to a table on Derik Queen's page. I attempted to put a NBA statistics start and S-end, since that is what it said for his college stats table. However, I could not figure out a way to attach them together. Could you maybe help with that? BruinsIn7 (talk) 16:59, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
Hey @BruinsIn7, thanks for following up on this. I've added a new table under a new NBA heading in the career stats. I've put question marks instead of the actual stats as I wouldn't know where to find them. Maybe you can fill them in? Let me know if this is what you were looking to do or if you meant something else. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 00:02, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Bennash2025 (19:31, 13 April 2026)

Nice connecting with you! I am interested in improving information exchange in the space of health and medicine. I am keen to follow latest discoveries in this area. --Bennash2025 (talk) 19:31, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Bennash2025, and welcome to Wikipedia! Given your interests, I suggest you get involved with Wikipedia:WikiProject Health and fitness and Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine. There are other related WPs, too, that you can find here. On each Wikiproject, there should also be a list of tasks that you could look through if you're interested in some beginner contributions (finding references; improving short articles; etc.). I've left you a message on your talk page pointing towards the tutorials that might be good as a "step 0" to familiarize yourself with the platform, too. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with! SSR07 (talk) 20:32, 13 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Java-runs (20:04, 19 April 2026)

Hi ! I'm totaly new to wikis in general so know that my question is tinted with a lot of cluelessness, but what are some rules I should be aware of that are maybe not oblivious ? I don't want to make a blunder 1 day into my account that'd be sad lol.

Good evening ! (or whichever fits to your timezone) --Java-runs (talk) 20:04, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Java-runs, thanks for reaching out! This is a common question with new editors. I recommend you familiarize yourself with the following resources: Wikipedia's Five Pillars; as well as our policies on notability; verifiability; and reliable sources. You should keep the Manual of Style bookmarked for reference, and remember you can always reach out to me here if you have any further questions. Cheers, and happy editing! SSR07 (talk) 14:58, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
One more thing! Be sure to check out your tutorial. It will give you some pointers on beginner editing. SSR07 (talk) 15:01, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Fleettechnology (06:18, 21 April 2026)

Hi, I want to create a wiki page for my company. How would I go about creating a Wiki Page for them? --Fleettechnology (talk) 06:18, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Fleettechnology, thanks for reaching out. I appreciate you inquiring before taking any action—that doesn't always happen! On Wikipedia, we call your situation having a conflict of interest. To quote our policy, that's "a description of a situation, not a judgment about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith." The fact that you're asking here shows you have good faith! I would recommend reading through our policy on COIs, declaring your COI, and then proposing the creation of a new article for your company. You'll find the steps to both those last two action items in the policy. Be sure, too, that before you begin work you have checked our policy on notability for companies and ensured your company meets the thresholds described. Question from Guneskadir (17:01, 21 April 2026)

Hey SSR07, I want to contribute to Turkish side of Wikipedia by translating the existing English pages. Wikipedia suggest I start by making small edits but to me it doesn't seem necessary for my purposes since I won't be the original writer of the content. I don't even know if translating existing pages is allowed. Is it? Sorry, if my questions are too obvious. Cheers --Guneskadir (talk) 17:01, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Guneskadir, thanks for reaching out, and I'm happy to hear you're interested in translation--It's an area of Wikipedia that doesn't get enough attention! Translation occurs on the target language's Wikipedia, which is to say that because you want to translate into Turkish, that happens on the Turkish Wikipedia. Because policies vary from language to language, I recommend reading their policy on translation and reaching out to somebody there who knows more about the Turkish side of things (this seems to be the forum to do that). I'm here, too, of course if you ever need help on the English side! SSR07 (talk) 03:28, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Central Railways PR Department (04:22, 1 May 2026)

Hello, is it wrong to add some useful information to a webpage? --Central Railways PR Department (talk) 04:22, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Central Railways PR Department, thanks for reaching out. I assume you are referring to your recent edit on Solapur railway division. On Wikipedia, we have guidelines on what we put in articles. In that sense, there is information that might seem useful to you that is "wrong" to add to an article. The information you added had several problems, among them the fact that it was unsourced and that it seemed to engage in puffery, that is to say that it promoted specific individuals ("esteemed" ; "highly experienced" ; "dedicated"). For the information you wished to add, a simple sentence about the electrification with a reliable source would have been enough. There is no need to mention specific employees.
A note, in addition to that on your talk page about your username: I have forwarded this account for a sockpuppetry investigation. I apologize, that's not something I want to do as your mentor, but the username coincidence and shared interest in articles suggests to me that you opened this account in order to evade your ban, a use of secondary accounts which is strictly prohibited on Wikipedia. Please reach out, ideally on your original account with the name changed, with any questions. SSR07 (talk) 19:50, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from The Unapologetic Spagetii (20:28, 3 May 2026)

Hi! I have noticed several articles that have math equations that ether overlap the left tools bar or can extend entirely off of the screen. Is there any sort of fix to this? --The Unapologetic Spagetii (talk) 20:28, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Hey @The Unapologetic Spagetii, thanks for reaching out...That shouldn't be happening! I am no expert on this but my minimal technical expertise suggests to me that one of two things are happening, either (a) there's something wrong with the article itself, something wrong with the rendering of the LaTex/HTML; or (b) there's something "wrong" or unexpected about the device on which you're viewing the article, I could imagine a mobile device causing problems, for instance, or a strange aspect ratio (?) of your browser. If you think it isn't the latter, I've found some pages that might help you problem solve (Help:Displaying a formula; Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Mathematics) but I would suggest you identify particular pages and try to find someone with more expertise than me (I can barely read WikiMarkup, much less LaTex). You could reach out at the Teahouse or at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with--Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 15:49, 4 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Gchaitas (13:41, 8 May 2026)

Hello. Can i ask a question about editing pages? --Gchaitas (talk) 13:41, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Gchaitas, thanks for reaching out! Go right ahead, I look forward to helping you to the extent I can! SSR07 (talk) 20:34, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
Hey @SSR07
Thank you for replying so fast to me.
I just wanted to know whether i can add a reference to my personal website in a wikipedia page. I am seeing other people do it as well and i just to be 100% sure that this is something that i can do. The reference will be a blog article from my website and will be relevant Gchaitas (talk) 09:05, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
Hi @Gchaitas, I appreciate you asking about this in advance. Unfortunately, Wikipedia deems blogs to be unreliable sources given they consist of user-generated content. See the specific guideline here. If you've seen other examples of it on Wikipedia you should remove the citation or notify someone (like me!) to do it. I recommend exploring other sources that might be able to serve as a reference for what you're looking to cite. Feel free to ask any further questions! SSR07 (talk) 17:02, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from DRhodes402 (15:31, 14 May 2026)

Hi! I’m a new editor focusing on Nebraska local government records. I recently had my first account blocked because I mistakenly used a group username ("Pcwatchdog"). I’ve since started over with this personal account and have placed a full Conflict of Interest disclosure on my user page to be as transparent as possible.

My goal is to add an external link to a searchable archive of board minutes at PCWatchdog.org on the Pawnee County, Nebraska and Pawnee City, Nebraska pages. The project was recently covered by the Pawnee Republican", Nebraska's oldest continuously published newspaper, which I believe establishes the site's legitimacy as a resource.

Since the official government sites currently lack searchable archives, I believe this provides significant value for verifiability. Could you help me ensure I re-add these links in a way that follows community standards and avoids any further policy issues? --DRhodes402 (talk) 15:31, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello @DRhodes402, thanks for reaching out! Could you explain what links you would like to add and where you would add them on Wikipedia? That will help me understand what it is you're trying to do so I can give relevant direction. Thanks! SSR07 (talk) 21:25, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
Sure thing, SSR07! Thanks for the guidance.
I am looking to add a link to PCWatchdog.org to the "External links" section of the Pawnee County, Nebraska and Pawnee City, Nebraska pages.
The project serves as a community utility and searchable archive. I believe it adds value based on WP:EL for the following reasons:
  • Searchable Archives: The official county site currently lacks a searchable database of board minutes; my site provides this functionality for better verifiability.
  • Multimedia Records: I'm working to provide full audio recordings of public meetings which are not currently available on the official government site.
  • Updated Information: The official web presence has not seen significant updates since 2018, so I provide this modernized user friendly utility for searching up local representatives and making contact easier.
The site’s legitimacy was recently established by a feature in the Pawnee Republican (the state's oldest continuously published newspaper), which I have cited on my user page.
Because I have a Conflict of Interest as the site's creator, I wanted to propose this here first rather than adding the links myself. I want to ensure these links are viewed as a neutral resource for the community rather than self-promotion. Would these be considered acceptable additions under community standards? --DRhodes402 (talk) 23:35, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
@DRhodes402, looks like you've done your homework--Thanks for that! This seems like a pretty niche case, so I don't think you're going to get a rule quoted at you that says this can't be added, but you might still have dissenting opinions. I see that you've added a topic under the talk page--That's the right first step. I suggest you wait a week and see if anyone responds. If you get no traction (to set expectations, this is what will probably happen) there are other venues for a third opinion you can pursue before it gets added. Ping me and we'll work something out. Thanks again for your commitment to Wikipedia! SSR07 (talk) 00:03, 15 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Sbali667 (16:56, 14 May 2026)

Hello, I have edited Leonard N stern's bio per his request. I would like to know when it will be approved and updated on the website. thank you --Sbali667 (talk) 16:56, 14 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Sbali667, thanks for reaching out. Your edit was undone by an automated bot--This was likely triggered because you deleted a significant chunk of information from the article. Removing accurate, well-written, and sourced information from an article is generally unwelcome on Wikipedia.
Are you saying that the subject of the article, Leonard N. Stern asked you to perform the deletion? Please note that editing at the request of an article's subject is against Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy as it could be said that such a request is subverting your primary motive: to act as an impartial editor. Conflicts of interest should be disclosed according to the policy. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about this, I recognize it might not be immediately intuitive. Question from EKLindsey-edits (21:05, 17 May 2026)

Hello SSR07, thank you for your note. My apologies for the delayed reply. I initially misunderstood the notification and didn’t realize it was directed to me. I appreciate your offer to help and am glad to connect. If you have a moment, I’d be grateful for any recommendations or suggestions you may have regarding my Wikipedia page, particularly anything that would help strengthen it in line with Wikipedia’s standards and policies. My very best, Elizabeth Lindsey --EKLindsey-edits (talk) 21:05, 17 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello @EKLindsey-edits, thank you for reaching out. It looks like I missed an earlier message on your talk page--I apologize. I can sometimes miss messages if I'm not mentioned in them. Going forward, I suggest mentioning me by using "@" and then typing my username.
From your message it sounds as if you are Elizabeth Lindsey. If that's the case, you have what we call on Wikipedia a conflict of interest. I suggest you read through our policy on COIs and how to declare them on your userpage.
Regarding your suggested revisions: Thank you for setting them out so clearly on the article's talk page instead of going in and making the edits directly. Please note that on Wikipedia we use inline citations for specific claims instead of a list of sources. It will be useful if you could identify which source is used to substantiate each particular claim using the built-in reference system. I suggest that you also look through our policy on reliable sources for which kinds of sources are acceptable for use on Wikipedia.
Having gone through those steps you'll be in a better place with your suggestions and I'm happy to take a second look at that point. Thanks again! SSR07 (talk) 18:35, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
Hello SSR07, thank you very much for your swift, thoughtful and helpful guidance. I appreciate your clarification, especially regarding conflict of interest, inline citations, and reliable sourcing. I will review the relevant policies and work through the draft carefully. Thank you again for your time and willingness to take a second look once I’ve revised it. Question from Kimbarrett92 (23:26, 18 May 2026)

Note: Kimbarrett92's mentor Seawolf35 is away.

Hi, thanks for being my mentor. I've successfully got a couple of pages published through AfC. I'm now working on a page for someone who is notable in his own right but his wife isn't, even though she has contributed to his work and done some interesting things (but doesn't meet the standard of 3 significant sources). My plan is to have a subheading in his page about her and her life, but I'm not sure the best way to structure it. Do you have any advice - or similar situation on other pages that I could crib off? Thanks. --Kimbarrett92 (talk) 23:26, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Kimbarrett92, I'm happy to be your (interim) mentor! What you're suggesting is a little unorthodox; I can't think of any article I've seen that has such a structure. I think you might be able to get away with a paragraph about the wife's life under "Personal life" but I suspect not a whole subheading? I don't know! I suggest you mock it up and then ask at the teahouse for a third opinion. Sorry--I know that wasn't terribly helpful! SSR07 (talk) 03:02, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
OK, I'll draft it up and hopefully an obvious structure appears, if not I'll ask at the Teahouse. Thanks for your suggestion :) Kimbarrett92 (talk) 08:39, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello and thank you for taking on a mentor role. I am new to this and was hoping to get some feedback on the edits I have made so far. I'd like to know if I am on the right track. I want to help, not hurt Wikipedia. Thank you. --Jzainasheff (talk) 21:58, 31 May 2026 (UTC)

Hey @Jzainasheff, thanks for reaching out! I did a quick spotcheck on your contributions list and it looks like you're doing great! You've gotten started with the newcomer tasks which is excellent and you have no reverted edits, which is always a good sign. Your tone corrections looked great on the three articles I checked, too, so I'd say there's no hurting of Wikipedia to be concerned about at all! As for everyone, if you're looking to get more exposure to Wikipedia's policies, I'd recommend starting with those on reliable sources, notability, and the manual of style. Question from MaxF 360 (12:15, 2 June 2026)

Hello! I see that you have been assigned as my mentor, and I'm very happy to have your guidance. I am a new editor with a Conflict of Interest (COI). I work for the communications agency THREESIXTY, and we represent Debenhams Group. I have already placed my mandatory paid editing disclosure on my user page in line with WP:PAID. The current Debenhams Group article is heavily outdated. For example, it still lists Carol Kane as the Chief Executive in the text, whereas Dan Finley was appointed as Group CEO back on 1 November 2024. Because of my COI, can I edit the article directly? I want to make sure I format the text and the independent news citations exactly how the community prefers. Thank you so much for your help! MaxF 360 (talk) 12:16, 2 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello @MaxF 360, thank you for reaching out! I appreciate editors who have done their homework regarding out policies on COIs—Your disclosure looks great. Our policies state that you are welcome to edit as any other editor on any page unrelated to your COI. Which is to say, if you want to edit a page about Adele or Ho Chi Minh City, you're welcome to do so directly. However, on articles related to your COI you should submit an edit request. Details on how to do so are described on this page. Please let me know if I can help you navigating that page or with anything else. Thanks! SSR07 (talk) 19:17, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
Hi SSR07, thank you so much for the warm welcome and for confirming that my disclosure page looks right!
I really appreciate the clear guidance on how to separate general editing from my COI. I have just submitted my first formal edit request on the Debenhams Group Talk page following the guidelines you linked, so fingers crossed it gets picked up by a volunteer soon.
I will definitely be in touch if I have any questions or queries as I navigate the process. Thanks again for your help! MaxF 360 (talk) 16:29, 4 June 2026 (UTC)

Cuna de lobos

Hi! Wikipedia assigned you as my mentor. It looks like we share some interests if you'd ever like to collaborate in the future.

For now I'd appreciate it if you could give Cuna de lobos a once over. I made a rookie mistake using the image from María Rubio. A bot slapped my wrist! Live and learn, but this image might pass WP:NFCC. It's a publicity photo for an unaired pilot with an agency to credit for copyright and WP:RS attesting to the importance of the eye patch's iconography. Any criticisms or feedback welcome. Hi @Cedarshadow, thanks for reaching out. Nice to find another editor with LatAm interests!
The primary problem with the article you linked is the one stated on the top: referencing issues. The DVD, Awards, and Synopsis sections are entirely unsourced. The first two sentences of the production section are unsourced, too. (The lead doesn't need references, as you may know.) The sources that are used seem to be of a decent quality, even a couple books which is rare for this kind of article.
I'm no expert on images on Wikipedia— I would suggest asking at the Teahouse where you'll find someone with the requisite knowledge.
I'm happy to answer any further questions. ¡Buena suerte! SSR07 (talk) 02:08, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing me to the Teahouse. As far as the sourcing goes, I did pick up that a claim cited further down doesn't need a citation in the lead. The DVD information is where I hit a dead end. The best I could find was a source stating that the remake was out of print while the original remained in circulation on streaming, DVD, and in fan uploads on YouTube. I might have to clean house.
You mentioned the synopsis section. I don't think synopses need citations, do they? It mostly seems to be a matter of preference on how much detail to include. Cedarshadow (talk) 02:56, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
@Cedarshadow, you're absolutely right on citing syponses (Wikipedia:NOTCITE). Maybe we should switch mentoring roles....
Re:DVD. There's nothing on the music controversy at all? If that's the case you may want to tag the claim somehow or even delete it entirely. Judgement call based on which side you fall on. SSR07 (talk) 18:16, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
Hah! I'm happy to learn together. There is evidence in the secondary sources of rights issues with the music. It's pretty thin and I don't want to WP:SYNTH the DVD claim. It's probably in some trade publication somewhere... which would actually favor removal if there's no evidence in scholarship or the many newspaper mentions. Thank you again for your help! Cedarshadow (talk) 20:49, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

Just to follow up: The teahouse says one fair use image per article. It was a bit condescending to be told the image belongs to someone else in a space for newcomers. I think AI slop makes people understandably cynical. I'll try to take it as motivation to stay positive. Cedarshadow (talk) 11:42, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

@Cedarshadow, I'm sorry to hear that. We do ask all our editors to be friendly and not to bite, so it's disappointing that some of our pointpeople for newcomer queries were a little short with you. In fairness, they surely go through many questions per day and, having been on Wikipedia for several years, are liable to assuming people know much more about Wikipedia's policies than is the case.
Your note earlier on uncited plot sections helped me improve an answer to another mentee's question this morning, though, so you're already making a positive difference on the encyclopedia, I can assure you! SSR07 (talk) 15:23, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Zavier14 (09:47, 10 June 2026)

I can’t see if I have posted anything have I --Zavier14 (talk) 09:47, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Zavier14, thanks for reaching out. You can see your contributions here. If you are referring to the publication of an article on Wikipedia: No, you haven't done that. It looks like you may have intended to do that but have edited your user page instead. User pages are for internal Wikipedia use to identify yourself as an editor. See mine here, for example. It is distinct from an article in what we call the mainspace. On creating an article in the mainspace, see this help page. Make sure to check out our policies on notability of people, verifiability, and conflicts of interest before you do so, though. Let me know if you have any further questions, I recognize that's a lot I just threw at you! SSR07 (talk) 18:23, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
How do I post please put a link that I can tap and it takes me to the posting area Zavier14 (talk) 06:28, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
Hello @Zavier14, have you read through the links I gave you in my previous comment? You'll find appropriate direction on the help page linked above: Help:Your first article. Best, SSR07 (talk) 21:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from Ghisely (08:51, 11 June 2026)

Hi!! How do i find topics im interested in editing like on my country etc. --Ghisely (talk) 08:51, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Hello @Ghisely, thanks for reaching out! I always suggest that people try to find Wikiprojects that align with their interests. Wikiprojects are communities of editors interested in collaborating around a given topic. I am part of Wikiproject Architecture and Wikiproject Peru, for example. You can look through a full directory of Wikiprojects here. Looking at your recent edits, it looks like "your country" might be Singapore? You might find Wikiproject Singapore particularly interesting. Wikiprojects will generally have tasks that you can help out with, such as this one for WP Singapore. Let me know if I can answer any further questions. Cheers! SSR07 (talk) 17:25, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

Question from ThineCyberCat (01:45, 14 June 2026)

Hey, how are you? I have two quick questions. Is editing similar to that of something like a specific video game wiki? I would assume in terms of technical editing it is similar, but tone and general way of writing is different. I thought I would ask out of curiosity. I am also curious how often "editing wars" actually happen. --ThineCyberCat (talk) 01:45, 14 June 2026 (UTC)

To clarify with the latter: This was something I was warned about after asking for permission to make a Wikipedia account a few years ago. ThineCyberCat (talk) 01:49, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
Hey @ThineCyberCat, thanks for your questions. I'm doing well; I hope you are, too.
Fandom, which I assume you're alluding to, was founded by the same guy as Wikipedia and also shares Wikitext, the markup language, so the "technical editing" as you refer to it should be similar if not identical. I don't have much experience on Fandom. In my experience, though, we do have more binding policies, particularly around notability, verifiability, and our Manual of Style. I recommend you skim through these policies before you get too deep into editing. You may also find this essay useful in gauging tone, but really the best way to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's tone is to just read a bunch of articles!
Editing wars can definitely occur, but they are strictly restricted on Wikipedia (through the three revert rule; see previous link), allowing participating parties to be sanctioned and thus putting a stop to them. Sometimes, of course, they go unreported or under the radar, in which case it's everyone's responsibility to take action if they encounter it.
There are some subjects more prone to edit warring (and other disruptive editing) than others, and they often receive additional restrictions or contentious topics status.
I hope this helps! SSR07 (talk) 02:12, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
