Wikipedia and copyright
Hello VitoxxMass! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. MCE89 (talk) 13:11, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- I understand, sorry I am new to this. VitoxxMass (talk) 13:20, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- Is it ok to translate word by word articles on wikipedia in other languages onto English? If not, you are free to remove my Corsican contribution. I did credit the Italian page, however, in my edit log. VitoxxMass (talk) 13:23, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
- You're very welcome to translate content from Wikipedias in other languages, as long as you provide proper attribution following the instructions at Help:Translation#Licensing. It looks like you did this correctly in your edit to History of Corsica, so there shouldn't be any issue with your translations! It was only your edits where you copied from journal articles and other sources that presented copyright issues. MCE89 (talk) 13:31, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi VitoxxMass. Thank you for your work on Ivan Nagiba. Another editor, Voorts, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
I used Google translate for the source and got almost word for word the translation provided here. Do not create articles based solely on Google translations. If you do not read Russian or cannot translate from Russian to English, you should not be creating articles like this.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Voorts}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Ivan Nagiba moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Ivan Nagiba. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it has too many problems of language or grammar. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. voorts (talk/contributions) 21:09, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Abu Simbel and the cult of Isis
Hello. I have reverted your addition to the Isis article, and your similar one to Abu Simbel (village), for a couple of reasons.
First, the UNESCO page that you cited is discussing not only Abu Simbel but several monument sites—"from Abu Simbel to Philae", as it says it the title—and the paragraph that you seem to be drawing upon switches topic from Abu Simbel to Philae partway through: "The monuments of the property include exceptional architecture, such as the Great Temple at Abu Simbel, carved out of an escarpment of solid rock. Its design and layout allow rays of the sun to penetrate to the innermost chamber twice annually on the equinoxes. Philae above the first cataract was the great Ptolemaic sanctuary of the goddess Isis - renowned since Greco-Roman antiquity for its temples and their annexes. The final bastion of ancient Egyptian religion, the rites of the cult of Isis persisted there until the 9th century CE." So the text about the cult of Isis is actually talking about the temple complex at Philae, not Abu Simbel.
Second, the source I quoted seems to have made an error itself. As is described in a footnote in the Isis article, scholars believed for a long time, based on a passage in the works of the Byzantine historian Procopius, that the cult of Isis was practiced at Philae until it was destroyed by the general Narses somewhere in the 530s. But in the past 20 years, that belief has been challenged, because Procopius's account shows that he didn't very well understand what happened at Philae, where he had never been, and the evidence on the ground at Philae suggests that the cult died out decades earlier, not long after the 450s. Several sources cited in the article discuss these problems in detail. I don't know why the UNESCO page says "9th century", but my best guess is that somebody was following the traditional view of events and misread or mistyped "9th" instead of "6th". A. Parrot (talk) 15:34, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
- That is fine, I appreciate the message. Obviously, I have nothing to refute to this, as it quite makes sense. Either way, thanks for your formality! VitoxxMass (talk) 18:23, 21 June 2025 (UTC)

Not the expert on maps
I noticed that you're the author of the map showing participant countries on the Global Sumud Flotilla. I see that Uruguay is marked in gray, but in my opinion, I think it should be green. Sources per this plus this goverment account whom says three Uruguyans are present Lf8u2 (talk) 02:57, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- This map also has Uruguyans, accecpted social media. Lf8u2 (talk) 05:08, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking this to my attention i will be adding Uruguay to the map shortly. I did not respond earlier as I was following the livestream :) VitoxxMass (talk) 09:14, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- In regards to that map you sent, sadly I cannot use it as sole evidence and source for my map. But if you find more sources about other countries mentioned in it I will be willing and pleased to add those nations the map. VitoxxMass (talk) 09:16, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Gen Z 213 Protests

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gen Z 213 Protests to request its speedy deletion, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia and output must be carefully checked. For further information, see the section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find it difficult, please ask for help at the Teahouse. M.Bitton (talk) 01:44, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
Sources misrepresentation
Care to explain why you misrepresented the sources in the new article that you created? To make it easier for you: which reliable source says The Gen Z 213 Protests are a series of ongoing protests occuring in Algeria which are part of the wider phenomenon of Gen Z protests
? M.Bitton (talk) 01:49, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
- I did not. The sources clearly call it a Gen Z protest. VitoxxMass (talk) 01:58, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

- "ALGIERS, OCTOBER 1 - In Algeria, authorities have warned against anonymous calls circulating on social media calling for demonstrations next Friday, inspired by the "Generation Z" protests underway in Morocco and described as "infiltrated initiatives" aimed at "destabilizing" the country."
- Just one of the three sources attached to such statement. Id like to know what's not clear about that. VitoxxMass (talk) 02:00, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

- That doesn't say what you added to the article: "The Gen Z 213 Protests are a series of ongoing protests occuring in Algeria which are part of the wider phenomenon of Gen Z protests".
- In other words, you misrepresented the sources. What I want to know is why? M.Bitton (talk) 02:02, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
- Let me ask you a question, the protest being a Gen Z protests doesn't make it part of the wider pheonomenon of Gen Z protests? Last time I checked if a protest fits a specified terminology or group of protests, it is a part of it.
- Furter proof of it being a Gen Z protest? I have dozens.

- I have up to another 5 sources saying such a thing too. If it is a Gen Z protest, it is indeed part of the wider Gen Z protest phenomenon, ESPECIALLY since its heavily inspired by a well established Gen Z protest. I don't see your logical complain about this. If your complain is "The sources do not say word for word what you wrote", its because of plagiarism, and as to summarize the content of the sources and what they stated. If you have further complaints say so VitoxxMass (talk) 02:07, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi VitoxxMass. Thank you for your work on Battle of Tarvisio (1943). Another editor, Scope creep, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Hi, Ref 2, 4, 6,7, 15 seems to be problematic. Can you check its not self-published or some predatory journal.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Scope creep}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

The caption doesn't respect MOS:CAPTION ("Most captions are not complete sentences but merely sentence fragments which should not end with a period."), can you please remove the period? ~2026-83504-2 (talk) 21:29, 6 February 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Hikikomori Italia

A tag has been placed on Hikikomori Italia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion".

DYK for Hands off Greenland protests
On 24 March 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Hands off Greenland protests, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that some Greenlanders wear "MAGA" hats reading "Make America Go Away"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Hands off Greenland protests. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Hands off Greenland protests), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Ways to improve Alireza Jafari (child soldier)
Hello, VitoxxMass,
Thank you for creating Alireza Jafari (child soldier).
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
The article is based on a single Iranian opposition source, the only source which mentions Alireza Jafari. This means it does not satisfy WP:GNG.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Boynamedsue}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.
Boynamedsue (talk) 04:23, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- I have resolved the issue by putting evidence of regime-affiliated media on the topic, showing it is not merely reported by western or opposition outlets. Specifically, TABNAK reported on it, a conservative news agency which has funds from the Ministry of Culture and elements of the IRGC, active or not. VitoxxMass (talk) 10:55, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I must say. VitoxxMass (talk) 10:56, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

Your contribution for "2026 drone strikes on Akrotiri and Dhekelia" page on 5 March
Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. I am sending you this message for your edit of the page "2026 drone strikes on Akrotiri and Dhekelia" on 5 March. In the Military section, you added Turkish comment "Turkey commented on the tension stating that they would protect and ensure the safety of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and adding that they understood "the need [...] (of) Greece [...] to defend its territory"" However, as you check the source, the part of the comment "adding that they understood "the need [...] (of) Greece [...] to defend its territory"" was made by the Greek minister of defense, Dendias. Could you please correct that error? Thank you.--Narsilien (talk) 08:05, 6 April 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Uri Tzafon when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious.
When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
