Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Zyxrq! Your additions to Emanuel L. Philipp have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:08, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

One thing
It's not really the best idea to ping a blocked sockpuppet account if you decide to reinstate their edits. See WP:DENY for some related general discussion. Cheers. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 05:59, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

| Thanks for your work on the National Progressives of America. Good find on that, I thought all the little left parties of the 1930s had pretty much been covered in at least minimal depth. I was wrong! I'm gonna go slam on it for a day and then you can spin back and slam on it some more... You're in the stage of Wikipedia participation now where it seems like everyone is mean and critical and dumps rules on your head, etc. It's part of the learning process, just hang in there. People can be snippy when they shouldn't be. Anyway, a belated welcome to Wikipedia and congratulations on your first well-earned barnstar! If you have any questions about WP, the editing process, rules and cultural norms here, any of that stuff, do not hesitate to ask. If you prefer to communicate by email away from prying eyes, I can always be reached at MutantPop@aol.com. National Progressives
Hello friend, I just wanted to leave a little suggestion that maybe you hold off or revert some edits before adding "National Progressives of America" to every election page or biographical page, since the NPA didn't run in any elections, and few politicians actually joined the party, including among Wisconsin Progressives. @Zyxrq Talthiel (talk) 02:58, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yes I will hold off on making those edits. When putting together the start of the article for the NPA I wasn't sure how to treat its relationship with the WPP and its elected officials after 1938, truthfully I'm still not sure. One example of this is Robert M. La Follette Jr. as a senator after 1938, though this is something that should be discussed on the relevant talk pages. Thank you. Zyxrq (talk) 03:51, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
AfD pages
Hi @Zyxrq, thanks for making the AfD Brandenburg and AfD Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. I am just wondering can you make a page for the AFD Thuringia and AFD Berlin. Thanks.Muaza Husni (talk) 11:24, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

We need to create a new page in Wikipedia titled “Modern Progressivism in the United States”
I think this page is needed, because the article about progressivism is misleading if someone wants to get to know about the modern meaning of the term. For example, it would be much better for the Congressional Progressive Caucus’s ideology section to redirect to the new page. Same goes for the Democratic Party’s article, when it mentions the Progressive faction. Progressivism (the article) wouldn’t be suitable either, because it associates the term with Social Liberalism, which is also unsuitable for the American use of the term. It has already been done with Liberalism, so why not do the same with Progressivism? Abotekap (talk) 15:08, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
- What do you think about that? Tell it to other Wikipedia users you know too! We need to work together to create a new article Abotekap (talk) 15:12, 23 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Abotekap I do agree that a new page about Modern Progressivism in the United States is a good idea. Zyxrq (talk) 18:51, 8 November 2025 (UTC)

Minnesota Crisis?
Hello! I saw your edit summaries and was just wondering what your plan was with "Minnesota crisis"—are you working on a new article? How will it be distinct from Operation Metro Surge? Placeholderer (talk) 19:26, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. I want to create a main article covering all the events happening in Minnesota. Not just the operation but also the fraud, general strike and attacks on politicians, citizens and ice agents. Zyxrq (talk) 19:41, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- My own opinion is that that's probably best covered in the Metro Surge article and List of Renée Good protests. The Metro Surge article is still missing lots of prose (prose should be replacing the timeline, per this discussion), like a background section where the fraud used as a justification should be mentioned (there's a small mention in Operation Metro Surge#Overview but it links to "2020s Minnesota fraud scandals" without further elaboration, which I don't think makes sense) Placeholderer (talk) 20:00, 30 January 2026 (UTC)

US president series colors
Hi. If you want to unilaterally change style on multiple pages in the future like you did with the US president boxes, it might be worth consulting the relevant WikiProject first. WikiProject Presidents of the United States has a manual of style for series boxes. Your version is probably a lot more useful and the colour of templates doesn't really matter but in case somebody reverts it again like they've done before and you're bothered about it, that's the centralized place to argue for your version I guess. Hope that's of some use to you. – Mullafacation『talk』 17:35, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Thomas Amlie and "Socialism"
I appreciate your work on material related to the Wisconsin Progressive Movement and you are obviously well-versed on sources connected to the topic. For this reason, I wanted to bring a related issue on another page to your attention and see if you had input on it.
The page List of socialist members of the United States Congress currently has a number of people included based on sources that do not always say what the article is claiming.
One of these is Thomas Amlie, who you mentioned in your recent comment on the NPA. I am knowledgeable about the American Labor Party and added some sources in the talk page that I think bring the inclusion of people from that party into doubt, but I know much less about Amlie.
They have currently included him on the basis of the biography "Fighting Son" about Philip La Follette which claims Amlie gave a speech in support of Socialism, but elsewhere it also claims that La Follette was open to Socialism and defines it as government control of key industries.
Previous commentators have taken the source at face value as confirming that Amlie had defined himself as a Socialist in the speech.
It would not be a complete surprise if he did so, but I think they should have stronger evidence given how the book has defined socialism elsewhere. Forr all we know he could have actually just said something not particularly controversial in the left wing of the progressive movement like "I support government ownership of railroads and grain elevators."
Perhaps you have access to the original speech or a source that is more specific about Amlie's exact views?
I also note that the page Thomas Ryum Amlie does not make any reference to Socialism aside from mentioning the Socialist activism of his brother. Chilltherevolutionist (talk) 22:39, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
