Deletion discussion from 2009 had sources that are now considered unreliable. Otherwise fails on WP:BLP1E anyway. Page looks like it can't pass WP:GNG or WP:SIGCOV with the sources covering this "segway user" which seems to be all that he was "notable" for anyway.. • Keep. Passes WP:GNG based on sources already cited in the article. Not sure what sources the nom was referring to as unreliable, because the article doesn't appear to use any materials tagged as unreliable at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources. Coverage in newspapers.com begins in 2005 and extends through 2009. There are also sources cited in the article from 2007 and 2008. This shows WP:SUSTAINED coverage, and the argument that this falls under BLP1E is discredited by that fact (plus what "event" is being referring to? there isn't a single event here covered in the articles). Enough of the cited materials have Gleich as the primary subject to meet our notability guidelines. I see no reason to not agree with the AFD WP:CONSENSUS in 2009. The editors then had it correct.4meter4 (talk) 23:07, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
The "one event" would be that its one guy that rode Segways. I think that this could and should be merged and redirected potentially as best WP:ATD to Segway which is the higher level subject and most notable part of anything touching this figure. Perhaps Segway#Usage would be even more refined. Iljhgtn (they/them · talk) 23:20, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

If you are the subject, then per WP:COI, I don't think you can really comment on your own WP:AFD. Can anyone else confirm if that is true? Iljhgtn (they/them · talk) 17:10, 21 February 2026 (UTC)

  • Keep per 4meter4, he has also received coverage after the Segway story. Kelob2678 (talk) 10:52, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment: I won't !vote because he's competed against my oldest brother, but the sources look good. Bearian (talk) 10:18, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
