This is a collection of discussions on the deletion and merging of articles related to Conservatism. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Conservatism|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Conservatism. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Subject is a non-notable cultural commentator. Fails WP:GNG and WP:AUTHOR as sources are primarily routine book mentions or partisan interviews. Article is an orphan with zero biographical depth. Mergle (talk) 17:48, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Delete per rationale given. The reason accompanying the PROD removal was akin to WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Yue🌙 (talk) 20:23, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Keep The subject has received detailed coverage in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Daily Telegraph, and has had multiple book reviews. These are not routine mentions or partisan interviews. Thriley (talk) 20:34, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Comment @Cl3phact0: since you removed the deletion tag back in March, perhaps you would like to weigh in here? Thriley (talk) 20:36, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- Keep as the subject meets GNG. Even if the article is short and orphaned it still meets GNG. It can be expanded and linked elsewhere - deletion is not cleanup. I am not a fan of the views that Peachy Keenan presents but the subject is notable. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 01:47, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
- Keep regardless of one's personal point of view, the subject clearly meets GNG and is a well know commentator in certain circles. -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 03:13, 24 June 2026 (UTC)
- Comment: There's an interesting article about the subject on the The Heritage Foundation website (A Domestic Activist Makes Her Case, 18 October 2023). Apparently this domain is blocked, so it can't be used as a source in our article, but the fact that the article exists tells us something about the subject's WP:N (again, in certain circles—which, regardless of their status here in our community, clearly exist in the world out there beyond the walls of our citadel). -- Cl3phact0 (talk) 04:00, 24 June 2026 (UTC)

I propose merging to Mycobiota because both pages are lacking information, and are both terms regarding the biodiversity of fungi within a specific area - funga now has support from the Fungal Conservation Commitee - I believe due to the lack of information it is better to merge these articles, instead of deleting Mycobiota Kirby123456 (talk) 14:34, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

- Merge per nominator's rationale. FaviFake (talk) 17:36, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
- Comment: I get the impression that the current subject is not the subject of the article deleted after the first nomination in 2006 (which was about a neologism). No opinion on the merger. WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 23:37, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Renominating per WikiOriginal-9 (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Independent Gay Forum (2nd nomination)). Fails WP:NCORP; still missing WP:SIGCOV. This article has been here for over twenty years. A Wondrous Raven (talk) 19:04, 16 June 2026 (UTC)

- Comment: this has been tagged as a potential NORG (which is the same as NCORP, but this is more of an organization than a corporation) failure since 2013–which is more than half of the 21–22 years the article has existed. This survived the first nomination in 2007 at a time of lower standards–but even that was as a "no consensus" defaulting to (but obviously not a consensus to) keep. (Its survival of the second nomination from 2013 was entirely procedural as the then-nominator started a high quantity of nominations within a day and was convinced to withdraw those, including that one, that did not gain any participation within the first ~12 hours or so.) No opinion. WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 19:24, 16 June 2026 (UTC)

- There's significant discussion by Lisa Duggan (2012), and a PhD Thesis (also 2012) with a chapter analyzing their work, not to mention quite a few paragraph or so mentions in other scholarly publications. I sort of come away feeling like there might be something here, but with just those two mentions it's really not enough to establish NORG. And the article is junky as of now. Maybe we redirect and add a brief mention to LGBTQ conservatism in the United States. But I'm not sure that's really merited. So right now I end up at Delete. But if anyone finds anything else, please do ping me. Eddie891 Talk Work 00:21, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
