The University of Florida Student Government is an association of students at the University of Florida created to run services and departments at the university, as well as to act as a liason for the students at that university.
It consists of three primary branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.[1]
History
UF’s Student Government was created in 1909.
Executive Branch
Student Body President
The Student Body President manages executive secretaries and agencies. They also represent the students in committees and the UF Board of Trustees.
Agencies
The following agencies are ran by UF Student Government and the Student Body President: ACCENT Speakers Bureau, Action SG, Bridges, Class Councils, Chomp The Vote, External Affairs, Gator Innovation, Gators Going Green, Nightlife Navigators, Student Government Institute, Student Government Productions, Student Honor Code Administration, Students Taking Action Against Racism, The Big Event, and the Young Leaders Conference.
Executive Secretaries
The following Executive Secretaries are appointed by the UF Student Body President: Academic Affairs, Affordability Affairs, Athletics and Recreation, Campus Life, Campus Safety, Career Readiness, Disability Affairs, Diversity Affairs, Graduate, Professional, and Family Affairs, Health Affairs, Satellite Affairs, Special Projects, Student Services, and the Technology Secretary.
Student Body Vice President
The Student Body Vice President manages the UF Student Body Cabinet. This cabinet has four departments: Diversity, Transition, Student Life, & Leadership And Service.
