Hello there! I'm MEN KISSING! You can also call me MenK for short. I'm an undergraduate college student, born in July of 2003, currently pursuing my bachelor's in pure mathematics. That is also the subject matter I am primarily interested in contributing to on Wikipedia.

As I mentioned, I am interested in contributing to mathematics in the future.

As for what I currently do on Wikipedia: I am contributing at WP:RFD, chiming in on some threads at WP:ANI, and I'm helping folks out at the Teahouse and at the help desk. That's about it so far.

Wikipedia is a cool website. I don't know if you've ever heard of it. If I had to give it a grade, I would give it a solid B, leaning towards a B+.

About me

I am transgender! I started Hormone Replacement Therapy a few months ago. It's been going great! Thank you for asking! I also consider myself non-binary. Words can't quite capture my perception of my own gender identity, and I think that is okay! You don't need to worry about it. I prefer she/her or they/them pronouns.

I like video games, but as a rule I only play indies or big budget titles from before 2010.

I don't have a strong interest in music. I usually prefer silence when I'm doing productive things, or if I'm playing a game, I just listen to the ingame music.

I am plural, as you can see in my userboxes! If you're unfamiliar with the concept, see morethanone.info or User:Tamzin/Plurality_and_multiplicity_FAQ^{[note 1]}. Plurality, to me feels more like a useful framework for navigating disassociative moods rather than a mental condition. I could live my life not considering myself to be plural, but existing just makes a lot more sense if I participate in plurality. Feel free to ask about my system or my other headmates! The working name for our system is "The Bunburrows". You also don't need to worry about any of this, at least for now. Only one headmate (me) contributes to Wikipedia.

I just noticed, as of writing, that you have an option on the tools bar to send me an email. That's great! Do that, please! Send me cool pictures of animals! Or whatever! Cool!

How did you come up with your name?

I came up with this name a bit before I joined Wikipedia, as my handle for playing Unreal Tournament online. When it comes to player models, UT99 doesn't shy away from more provocative depictions of the human form. Additionally, the server I was playing on was configured to show explicit artwork at the start of every match, for whatever reason. Neither of those things I personally find distasteful, but when it's appealing exclusively to the demographic of straight men, it makes a gal like me me feel left out. I wanted to change my handle for a reason I don't recall, and I was in a headspace of trying to think of a name that would be:

1. Really funny
2. Boldly, and brazenly queer
3. Not obviously inappropriate (so as to not invite pushback)

There was no workshopping; I simply had "MEN KISSING", all caps, pop into my head, and I immediately realized it was the perfect username. That is what I wanted people to see on the leaderboard when I top-fragged.

A few months after that, I finally decided to stop lurking Wikipedia and make an account, and I had my heart set on re-using that name. I actually had to request my account via WP:ACC, since there was already a user with a similar name (who, IIRC, had made a grand total of zero contributions).

There has been at least one person who has taken offense to my name. However, the overwhelming consensus seems to be that not only is my name perfectly appropriate, it's actually really cool. Since my account could only exist with approval of the admin who had to create my account for me, I was confident I had an acceptable username from day one.
