Adding audio

@Ebube Clara, welcome to Wikipedia. Please I want you to be adding the name audios in a bracket and give space between the audio in bracket and the name before it e.g Chinua Achebe (listen...). You are literally creating a double work and it isn't good. Cheers! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 19:30, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

@SafariScribe I really don't get what you mean here by adding the name Audio in a bracket and then giving space, it would be more helpful if you can copy the template of your explanation, so I can better understand what you mean here.
Thanks and cheers! Ebube Clara (talk) 20:51, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
when you added Emeka Offor listen(born 10 February 1959) to the Emeka Offor article, it shows Emeka "Offor listen is a Nigerian.." when search on Google and it is not correct. Place brackets after the name to enclose the audio template. See the Emeka article to see what I did. Cheers!Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:02, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
@SafariScribe you still lost me there again, and that name sounded very correct, but this template "[[Emeka ]fforicle, it shows Emeka "Offor listen is a Nigerian.." when search on goedogle and it is not correct"
you sent to me is truly confusing.
Just send me a template of what you mean, I can easily spot what you are trying to explain from there.
Thanks Ebube Clara (talk) 21:14, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
But I told you to check the article and see what I did. Regardless, what I meant was that: the audio template you are adding to articles must be in brackets and you should give a space before placing it (you normally add the template directly to the name immediately and it is not right). Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:20, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
I think I get it now, please if you don't mind confirm what i just did whether I got it now
Thanks Ebube Clara (talk) 21:28, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
You are one step close. So, I am happy to have gotten the idea of putting it in brackets. However, if there is also a date of birth, a semi colon ; should be inserted between the template and the date of birth. For example: "Chinua Achebe ({{audio.....; born 1956) is a Nigerian..."
No punctuation mark goes immediately after the name like you did to Emeka Offor, e.g Emeka Offor; we don't add anything except space before the bracket. I will correct the article again and you see it. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 22:50, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
Wow, this is truly enlightening. I appreciate all you did, and would use this same template to correct the once I did earlier.
Thanks again and hope you had a good night rest.
Enjoy the rest of your day. Ebube Clara (talk) 07:35, 19 December 2025 (UTC)
Please stop edits like this. GiantSnowman 15:55, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
@GiantSnowman Please where exactly should I stop here, because I got a message from @SafariScribe requesting that I should add spaces with a bracket in the audio and also a semicolon; if there is a date of birth.
And that was the template I used to correct all the work I did earlier again today.
Thanks Ebube Clara (talk) 17:46, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
I reverted you, Snowman. I think Clara made mistake by not adding a space after the semi-colon, but that also doesn't need to be the reason to revert. @Ebube Clara, go to the edit history of that page and see what I did. Again, if ther is anything you care to say, Snowman, I do love to hear it. Thank you. SafariScribeEdits! Talk! 21:31, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
Why is the audio pronunciation separated from the word it is pronouncing? And yes, the missing space (which was in every edit I saw) is an error. GiantSnowman 09:33, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
If it is placed immediately after the name, when searched on Google, shows "listen" too after the name. But when in the bracket, it saves the awkwardness. SafariScribeEdits! Talk! 09:38, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
Ok, I've seen what you did, so I should go ahead and add spaces after the semicolon, please would that be all? Ebube Clara (talk) 17:41, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
