Question from Grabble237 (02:07, 3 April 2026)
Hey Shadestar my name is Grabble237, I was doing some editing to get some practice, and I am getting tone editing stuff which says that it is an experimental check..... for these edits do I revise the sections and then add that to the talk page of the articles or is it just practice so it won't add that at all? --Grabble237 (talk) 02:07, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, @Grabble237. I’m not entirely sure what you mean; your question isn’t very coherent. What does
I am getting tone editing stuff
mean? And what do you mean by experimental check? - How do we create an article Vitinha 17 (talk) 17:54, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
- You can create a draft; this is highly encouraged as opposed to creating an article straight into mainspace, where anyone can see it, if you’re a beginner editor. You may also want to read up about AfC.
- As for how to write an article after you have created the page, you need reliable, independent sources that give significant coverage to the subject of the article. The pages that the blue links lead to should be very helpful if you are thinking of creating an article.
- And, by the way, there’s no pressure to create an article; there are certainly other ways you can help on Wikipedia if you so wish. Cheers! 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 18:40, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Minister Israel Coj (22:49, 6 April 2026)
How can I upload my information here --Minister Israel Coj (talk) 22:49, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
- Your question isn’t very clear — if you mean to ask ‘how do I make a user page,’ then you edit User:Minister Israel Coj. If you mean adding your personal information (phone number, real name, real-life location, etc) to some Wikipedia page, there tends not to be really any reason to do that, though you’re free to if you want. You cannot, however, add information about yourself to an article in WP:MAINSPACE.
- If this doesn’t answer your question, then please rephrase it in a clearer way. Thanks! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 03:45, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

I just made a suggestion to wikipedia , or tried to . About the pictured included to famous or notable people . The pictures are not always the best . Some pictures may be darkened or obscure . --Clarkfooqtookent (talk) 19:25, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from D.F. Sherwood (19:38, 26 April 2026)
Hello Shadestar,
I was wondering for advice for including something on the wikipedia page for Charles De Koninck.
I translated some of his articles and an academic journal published it. I figured it would be useful to add them to the further reading / external link part of the article, since his many other of his translated works are also included. I asked about this on the talk page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Charles_De_Koninck.
Any advice about this COI? I added a bunch of other useful stuff to the page, as well, but nothing that I had written or translated, to avoid a COI.
Thank you for your help! --D.F. Sherwood (talk) 19:38, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- What is the nature of your COI? Simply as the translator of his articles? Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 23:06, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yep, I am just the translator of the four of them, not an author, editor, or publisher.
- Thank you for responding so quickly! D.F. Sherwood (talk) 00:53, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- You’re welcome! :)
- The term ‘conflict of interest’ typically means that you are connected to this person in such a way that it is difficult for you to write and act neutrally about them. If your only connection in any way to Charles De Koninck is as the translator of his articles, I don’t suspect that would count as a COI — at least, not in the way that being paid by this person to edit Wikipedia or being a close relative counts as a COI. My thought is that insubstantial changes are fine (copy editing, adding items to the Further Reading section, etc) but anything more you should ask about if you think you have a COI. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 17:30, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
- This is very helpful! Thank you. I won't worry about it anymore. D.F. Sherwood (talk) 19:26, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
May 2026 Administrator Election – Call for Candidates

The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
- April 29 – May 5: Call for candidates
- May 8–12: Discussion phase
- May 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
- The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
- Prospective candidates are advised to become familiar with the community's expectations of administrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Wikipedia:Advice for admin elections candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
- The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
- The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
- Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

About your AELECT candidacy
Hey there @Shadestar474! I saw that you have submitted an (as-of-now unlisted) application to run at WP:AELECTMAY26. I hope you do not mind a little bit of unrequested advice. It is great that you want to help Wikipedia by assuming more responsibilities, but your chances of being elected at the moment are very low. To be clear, it is by no means a reflection of the quality of the work you have done so far or of your character. It is simply because the community does not have enough data to properly evaluate how fit you would be for the role, and as a result is very likely to oppose. This stems from the fact that you are still very new and inexperienced (relative to what is usually expected of future admins), and because of the low amount of general contributions, content work, or admin-adjacent activities that you have done so far. There is nothing preventing you from becoming an admin in the future, but for this specific election, I would advise you to avoid listing yourself on the official candidates page, and to withdraw your candidacy early; otherwise you may face a very unpleasant time during the question phase, as editors can be very tough on prospective admins, especially ones they consider unprepared.
I would encourage you to read WP:ADEADVICE carefully (if you did not already), and see if what I say makes sense. Checking previous candidacies at RfA and AELECT, and seeing who succeeded and who failed, can also be very informative. In any case, please do not be discouraged by this, there are hundreds different ways to be helpful that do not require admin permissions (I discover new ones every week!). I hope to see more of your editing in the future, wherever you decide it should be. Have a nice day :) Choucas0 🐦⬛ 12:50, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, that makes sense. I was a little bit worried about that, to be honest, but I figured it’d be fine, lol. I’ll withdraw my candidacy. Thanks for informing me! :) Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 20:01, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Lamiya Sarker (13:58, 2 May 2026)
Hi, I'm Lamiya. I've opened my wiki acc[unt today. How I can open an wiki page by my name? --Lamiya Sarker (talk) 13:58, 2 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, Lamiya! If you mean writing a Wikipedia article about yourself, that tends to be frowned upon for a few reasons which I will explain.
- First up, there’s citations. Your article must be sourced reliably, and if it isn’t, it won’t be accepted. Articles will not be available to the public nor visible on Google until they’re accepted. Your sources must follow the guidelines at this link. If you can’t find any sources that follow those, then it’s too soon for you to have an article.
- Also, it’s generally a really bad idea to write about yourself in articles. Articles must be neutral, meaning they do not favor anyone over anyone else. Wouldn’t you find it weird to discover a Wikipedia article written like this: “Company X makes high-quality products made from the best of the best materials, making your dream life accessible. Product X is a groundbreaking innovation in technology that allows you to easily create whatever you want,” and so on? Even people with the best of intentions have a hard time writing perfectly neutrally about themselves; it’s no fault on their part, but it’s just how humans are. That’s why we don’t tend to let people write articles on themselves.
- It’s also worth noting that writing an article isn’t the only way to contribute to Wikipedia—it is, in fact, not even the main way. There are lots of ways to contribute, which you can take a look at on the community portal.
- Let me know if you have any further questions, I’m happy to answer!
- Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 02:18, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from GMakwana (02:55, 7 May 2026)
Hello Shadestar474,
I am new to Wikipedia. My draft article was declined because the sources may not show enough independent coverage. I have a conflict of interest because the draft is about me.
Could you please advise what kind of sources would be strongest for improving the draft before resubmitting?
Thank you, GMakwana --GMakwana (talk) 02:55, 7 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @GMakwana. You’ll have to find reliable, independent sources in order to support your article. What this means is that 1) the source must be reliable, reputable; as in, not some random blog post and usually not, like, a YouTube video, either. 2) the source must be independent of you, meaning it’s not an interview with you or someone you know personally. Anyone who has any opinion on you because they know you personally is off the table, whether that opinion is good or bad. If you cannot find at least three sources that are reliable AND independent, then, by Wikipedia standards, it is too soon for you to have an article.
- On top of all of this, you are highly encouraged not to write about anyone or anything that you have a conflict of interest with, and that includes yourself. Your draft is very likely to fail, purely because people aren’t good at writing neutrally about things they are involved in, and almost no one is the exception.
- I don’t say this to discourage you. You can still be an incredibly valuable contributor to Wikipedia, but I suggest you start with something easier for beginners, such as copy editing for typos and grammar errors in articles (there are a lot more of those than you’d think), adding a few well-sourced details to articles of your choice (excluding conflict-of-interest articles), or discussing things such as edit requests on talk pages and adding your voice to the discussion. I really appreciate your effort, but it may be better placed elsewhere for now.
- Thanks for your time! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 22:52, 7 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi Shadestar, nice to meet you. Glad I have a mentor to reach out to, your intro made me feel like you're approachable which I appreciate.
I just started getting involved on Wikipedia and already ran into a rough situation. Another editor accused me of fabricating a Britannica quote (it's actually in the article, anyone can check), and called me a "clanker" and my post "AI slop." I ended up opening an ANI thread about it. Honestly didn't expect things to get this harsh this fast. The whole situations is disappointing to me. I hope it changes for better.

Question from Noluthando Shabangu (02:29, 12 May 2026)
Hello 👋 hi I am Noluthando but you can also call me nolu or Thando by my nicknames
My question is how does edition work --Noluthando Shabangu (talk) 02:29, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- I assume you mean how does editing work; in that case, there are many different ways it can work. What specifically are you asking about? If you’re wondering who is and who isn’t allowed to edit, or whether there are restrictions, or something along those lines, everyone is allowed to edit, and there are a few restrictions which I can tell you about if you’d like to ask about a specific one. The basic rules you should understand before you do anything on Wikipedia are that 1) small edits like fixing typos and grammar, or rewording a sentence to mean the exact same thing but have a nicer flow, are always okay (as long you’re correctly fixing typos and grammar and not introducing new errors), medium-importance edits such as adding new content or information, adding pictures, and so on, tend to be fine, and big edits like changing the name of an article, rewriting the whole thing, et cetera, mostly require consensus, meaning everyone agrees it’s for the best. And 2) no new information can ever be added to an article without a source; you can find out more about those at this link.
- Bottom line is, stick to mostly small stuff until you’ve figured out a bit more about editing and you’ll be fine. (And if a different language is your native language, you should start on that language Wikipedia.) Happy editing, and feel free to ask me about literally anything Wikipedia-related you need help with! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 04:52, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
May 2026 Administrator Elections – Voting Phase

The voting phase of the May 2026 administrator elections has started and will continue until 19 May 2026 at 23:59 UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Voting phase.
As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- May 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase (we are here)
- Scrutineering phase
In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Question from Hamletcr on Byzantine–Georgian wars (07:07, 14 May 2026)
Hey I’m on my phone not sure how to do this, but on this “Byzantine-Georgian wars” article it links “Constantinople fell” to the 1453 Fall of Constantinople when in fact it’s referencing the Latin Empire being established in 1204. Would love to know how to alert page editors without actually editing the page. Sorry this is my first time. Thanks. --Hamletcr (talk) 07:07, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hey, @Hamletcr! That’s an excellent question; if you go to literally any article on Wikipedia, and look in the top right-ish, you’ll see a button called ‘Talk’ or ‘Talk page’ next to one that says ‘Article’. Every article has a talk page, where editors discuss how to improve said article. The talk page for the article you’re looking at is Talk:Byzantine-Georgian wars, where you can raise the issue and discuss it with other editors. Thanks for your question, and happy editing! Question from FilMaj2026 on User:FilMaj2026/sandbox (08:32, 18 May 2026)
Hi there, my mentor,
I have a question - how do I move my draft from the sandbox to the real page and publish it? I don't see that option to move it. --FilMaj2026 (talk) 08:32, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi! I am trying to create but I cannot figure out what I’m supposed to do or how I’m supposed to create a page. I’ve created the coding I’ve created the disclosure so that I’m not violating anything can you help me? walk me through what I need to do please and thank you so much. I truly appreciate you.
I have coded biography, but I don’t know how to put it in. Please help. Thank you so much. --Elduboisartist (talk) 15:06, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, @Elduboisartist! It seems that your only contribution on the English Wikipedia so far has been to ask this question. Have you ‘coded this biography’ off-wiki? If so, it would help to be able to see it so I can figure out exactly what’s going on (whether the article is sourced, whether you appear to have a COI, et cetera). Unless you give me more information, I don’t know if I’ll be able to help. However, I can say, as a general rule, that creating an article is not a beginner task on Wikipedia, and considering that this is your only contribution, you are a beginner editor. It may be better to start with simpler tasks like copyediting and participating in talk page discussions. Let me know if you have further questions! - Erica "EL" DuBois (born Erica Lea DuBois) is an American bestselling author, screenwriter, independent filmmaker, and visual artist. She writes primarily within the Southern Gothic, paranormal horror, dark fantasy, and cult-classic drama genres. DuBois is a Staff Writer at Akula Literary Partners and serves as the Co-Founder and President of the Twisted Crown Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on trauma recovery through the arts.
- == Early life and family heritage ==
- DuBois was born and raised in Texas. She is a member of the Polish-Texan Matysiak family, which has established a distinct creative presence in Texas independent cinema through a combined commitment to mainstream genre elements and independent social-impact projects. Her creative work is influenced by her upbringing in the 1980s and 1990s, during which she developed an interest in comic books, cult films, and modern pop culture.
- Before entering the entertainment industry professionally, DuBois survived a seven-year period of human trafficking, stalking, and domestic abuse. Following her escape, she utilized creative writing, poetry, and visual art as core therapeutic tools to process trauma and recovery.
- == Career ==
- === Literature and publishing accolades ===
- DuBois's literary style incorporates immersive worldbuilding, atmospheric narratives, and multi-genre themes of redemption, identity, legacy, and resilience. In March 2024, she joined Akula Literary Partners, Inc. as a Staff Writer, where she develops original character-driven literary properties, sequential art assets, and screenplays. Her titles have achieved bestselling status across major literary platforms and recognized book lists, notably securing audiobook award status in 2020.
- Her published works and original multimedia properties include:
- Poetry of the Broken – An early collection of therapeutic poetry that served as the foundational material for her initial published biographical memoir.
- Twisted Crown: A Tale of a Broken Kingdom – A biographical dark fantasy romance narrative framing the psychological realities of trauma survival through a reimagined folklore framework. The novel won Book of the Year in 2018, was nominated for a Rita Award in 2019, and was optioned for Hollywood feature film adaptation. In 2025, it was awarded International Social Impact Book of the Year. For her body of work, DuBois received a nomination for International Impact Author of the Year in 2026.
- SugarFields – A young adult fiction novel.
- Ransom, Texas – A Southern Gothic property developed for multi-media and screenplay expansion.
- NOLA Bound
- Infamous Saints – A character-driven genre series developed for graphic novel and screen adaptation.
- === Film production and "Film Family" model ===
- As an independent filmmaker and executive producer, DuBois pursued practical film production and script coordination training to maintain ownership and creative equity over her intellectual properties. Operating under production banners including Poodle in a Pit Bull Fight Productions, So & So Productions, and 3 Generations of Trouble, she champions an egalitarian "film family" model that bridges independent social-impact cinema with mainstream Hollywood technical standards.
- Through the Twisted Crown Foundation, DuBois produced the feature film Journey, an initiative designed to provide safe, professional set environments where trauma survivors can work in technical and production roles without being compelled to publicly disclose their survivor status.
- Her core production and collaborative team includes members of her family and creative inner circle:
- **J. Mackie Matysiak** – Her brother, who serves as a writer and director.
- **John Matysiak** – Her cousin, who operates as a professional cinematographer.
- **Skylar Rose** – Her daughter, an actress and collaborator on creative properties.
- DuBois serves on the Advisory Board of Hire Survivors Hollywood and the board of directors for Higher Survivors Homewood. In these roles, she functions as an industry consultant advocating for set safety, victim representation, and the industry-wide implementation of qualified intimacy coordinators.
- == Advocacy and public policy ==
- In April 2021, DuBois co-founded the Twisted Crown Foundation, serving as its President and Executive Director. In 2023, the foundation formally launched its Healing Initiative Program, establishing art therapy resources, community forums, and creative outlets for victims of sexual assault and domestic exploitation.
- DuBois is a public speaker, a member of the RAINN Speakers Bureau, and a speaker for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV). Her activism extends to federal legislative reform targeting big tech accountability and child safety online. In April 2026, DuBois participated on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., for RAINN's annual Congressional Day of Action. During this federal legislative push, she met with U.S. Senators and House Representatives to lobby for stronger protections against tech-enabled sexual abuse (TESA), strict regulations surrounding non-consensual deepfakes, and support for federal safety legislation, including the NO FAKES Act, the Defiance Act, and the GUARD Act.

- Ah, okay, so you did write this yourself; you said it was the bio that was
put together for [you]
, which implied someone else wrote it, so I just wanted to ask about that. - On Wikipedia, writing an article about yourself is highly discouraged, as is writing an article about your company, your relatives, or someone who has paid you. In addition to this, you’re very, very new at editing, so it’d likely be best for you to start smaller; for example, copyediting, or adding your opinion to article talk pages to help generate a consensus. I don’t say this to discourage you, but merely to inform you that writing an article is generally not for beginner editors.
- Why do you even want an article about yourself? The answer to that always helps inform the situation. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 22:48, 27 May 2026 (UTC)

- It’s okay; most people don’t know this when they first start out! Until someone unrelated to you has decided to create an article about you, the professional/correct information will have to come from things like your own blogs and social media posts and whatnot. Question from Gerçek Yarasa (04:32, 28 May 2026)
Hello! I mainly just wanted to say hi because I'm curious about how mentorship works but there is something I'm wondering about. How do you search for sources? I have my own method of finding books and papers that has worked for me (mostly regarding linguistics) but if you have any tips to share it'd really help. Thank you. --Gerçek Yarasa (talk) 04:32, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- Honestly, I don’t really look for sources myself that often. Searching for sources is really difficult for me personally (almost all my information comes from Wikipedia), which is why I don’t create articles. If I were willing to bother looking for sources, I would’ve made a few articles by now. However, WP:FIND has a few tips, including:
- The Wikipedia Library is an initiative to help Wikipedians get access to subscription or paid sources to improve Wikipedia articles. Editors with accounts in good standing can apply for access to databases, once they have made least 500 edits in Wikipedia over a period of six months. And anyone can request specific sources, or request help with research.
- Several general search engines exist for more academic material, particularly scholarly articles, although some content will be behind a paywall: examples are Google Scholar, BASE, the Internet Archive's https://scholar.archive.org/, ScienceOpen, and OpenAlex.
- WorldCat has millions of books and journal articles, and if you register for a free account, it will show you the closest libraries to you that have the source you are looking for. Some books and articles are available in full-text versions which you can view or borrow online.
- Hope that helps! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 04:44, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
- Ah I see. Good to know I don't have to do that all the time. I'm really interested in doing research so I can add information to pages, but indeed that can take a lot of effort.
- Thanks for the link, that's what I was looking for.
- Woah, I had no idea the Wikipedia Library existed! That's fantastic, I hope I can get there very soon. Gerçek Yarasa (talk) 05:14, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Tenysen (07:07, 3 June 2026)
Hi there!
I'm drafting a page about a business (similar to the Apple Inc page). Will sources taken directly from the company's website be viewed as strong references? E.g. the company's number of employees, what services they offer, what clients they've worked for. --Tenysen (talk) 07:07, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- It really depends on the type of information you’re looking to source. Employee count is irrelevant to articles about businesses, so there’s no need to worry about that. As for what services they offer, you’re generally better off getting that from independent sources that won’t play it up and use a bunch of weasel words. And does what clients they’ve worked for matter to this page? If so, why?
- As an aside, I’d like you to read through WP:NPOV, which is a policy I think you’ll find helpful while writing this page. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) 20:21, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks so much for a rapid response :D
- I guess the page I'm looking to build would end up very similar in format and information to this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram_(design_firm). This company page has client info, famous projects, and other topics sourced from the official Pentagram website (amongst other external sources). Tenysen (talk) 09:25, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks for pointing my attention to that page; it seems like it could actually use a bit of work. For one, having a list of clients isn’t recommended; see due weight. In addition, the style of your draft and your interest in having an article on this company would imply a conflict of interest, which means you are connected in some way to the subject of this article. Creating an article on a subject for which you have a COI is not prohibited, per se, but it is strongly discouraged. Do you have a connection to this company? Question from Mmbartok (15:48, 17 June 2026)
I plan to make edits in the near future of a specific page of the organization that I work for with outdated data from 10 years ago. I want to update the numbers and add data. Is that possible? this is my first time utilizing wikipedia and editing for the organization, so I just wanted to make sure that the edits would happen and they would remain. however, I don't know much about wikipedia policy etc. --Mmbartok (talk) 15:48, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Because you have a conflict of interest with this company, meaning you are connected in some way to it, you aren’t allowed to make any substantial changes to a page about the company. However, you are absolutely allowed to make an edit request on the talk page, where a Wikipedia editor will get to it eventually and assess neutrally whether or not to make your suggested edit. For more on how to format edit requests, see here. Let me know if you have any further questions! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 21:03, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

Hi Wiki Mentor, I want to make a wikipedia page on my highschool, do you recommend visual editing? --ISAIAH2GUD (talk) 17:35, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

- Del Oro highschool in Bakersfield, California. I think just because it's maybe a newer school and has some good records ISAIAH2GUD (talk) 21:07, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Could you provide some sources demonstrating that it’s notable? On Wikipedia, the word ‘notable’ has a different definition than it does in real life; it means that there has been significant, independent coverage of the subject in reliable sources, and to demonstrate that something is notable, you must provide the sources to prove it. Anything non-notable can’t have a Wikipedia article. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 21:19, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

- also, I was wondering. How do I make user boxes for my user page? ISAIAH2GUD (talk) 22:27, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Do you mean creating your own or adding some to your userpage? If you mean creating one, I learned to do that from WP:USERBOXES, and if you mean adding one to your userpage, the documentation tends to be labeled next to the userbox if you’re going through one of the userbox galleries. You can look at the source code of my own userpage as a reference if it still seems confusing! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 01:31, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

Would love to know your best tips on how I can level up from here and be super useful to the team! 🚀🎮💥 --MISS CIPHYY (talk) 07:14, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Depends on what you want to do, honestly! You want to protect Wikipedia from vandals? Edit pages for grammar and stuff? Participate in important talk page discussions? There’s loads of stuff to do, I couldn’t even list it all. There’s different best practices for different styles of editing, and different policies and guidelines to follow for different tasks. What sort of editing interests you?

- Hey Shadestar! 🌟 Playback received! 🎸
- I definitely want to lean into copyediting, history, grammar, and ancient civilizations/languages! 📜🏛️ As a writer, I love diving into pages about old poets, ancient lore, and historical figures, but making sure the grammar is flawless and the sentence flow actually feels alive.
- I want to learn the official Wikipedia way to present these topics cleanly, while refining the tone so it’s engaging and sharp for my generation to read—without ever changing the facts or compromising neutrality, of course! Pure truth, just told with better rhythm. 🕊️✨
- Where is the best place or backlog for me to start hunting for these kinds of history and language pages that need a serious polish? 🛠️🦅 MISS CIPHYY (talk) 13:38, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- If you want, you can visit the Guild of Copyeditors and go to the copyedit backlog and work your way through articles there, or you can participate in any copyediting blitz or copyediting drive they’re doing at the moment. You can visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Backlog elimination drives#Finding articles for ways to find articles to copy edit relating to a specific subject area (such as history).
- You may also want to take a look around WikiProject History, WikiProject Languages and WikiProject Latin, or WikiProject Culture. They’re essentially groups of editors all dedicated to improving articles on their respective WikiProjects’ topics, and you may find something helpful there or even want to join one. :)
- Let me know if you have any further questions! Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 22:52, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
- As an aside, your comments look a bit AI-generated; they might not be, but if they are, you should be aware of WP:NEWLLM and that using an LLM to generate replies on talk pages is very frowned upon. Almost any way to use an AI on Wikipedia is disallowed, so just be careful of that. Cheers, 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔱𝔞𝔯 (𝔱𝔞𝔩𝔨) -⃝⃤ (they/he) In solidarity. 23:02, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Georgia Kidd (02:30, 25 June 2026)
Hi, i want to find journalist's that want to write a article about me? --Georgia Kidd (talk) 02:30, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- If by journalists, you mean Wikipedia editors, you’ll have to provide sources to prove you’re notable. You’ll need at least three reliable, independent sources, meaning said sources 1) can be trusted by Wikipedia, and 2) are completely uninvolved with you. If you can find that, you might be able to find someone willing to write an article about you, although you’re not allowed to write it yourself. Let me know if you have further questions!
