Thanks for your contributions to Brandon Garic Notch. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

University of Information Technology and Communications moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, University of Information Technology and Communications, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Off-wiki misconduct in Palestine–Israel topic area
As previously announced, the Arbitration Committee received private evidence appearing to reflect off-wiki misconduct related to several editors in the Palestine–Israel topic area. The Committee sent a copy of the evidence to the users in question via email, notified them on their talk pages, and gave them an opportunity to respond. Based on the evidence and the responses, the matter has been resolved as follows:
For making edits in the Palestine–Israel topic area after off-wiki canvassing requests, and encouraging other users to game the extended confirmed restriction and engage in disruptive editing, Ïvana (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is indefinitely banned from Wikipedia. Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

ECR violation
My understanding is that you cannot edit in WP:500/30 areas (such as the Palestine-Israel conflict) because you've had the extended-confirmed permission taken away. Edits like this that discuss the Israel-Palestine conflict aren't acceptable. If you disagree, I would recommend asking at WP:ARCA. Chess (talk) (please mention me on reply) 04:26, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- I wasn't banned from editing on the topic, Only had my Extended confirmed permissions revoked, so I took it to mean I only can't edit protected articles, but not that I'm ever forbidden of even bringing it up in the context of Iraqi news, or even edit related articles that aren't under protection! I will ask in the form you suggested but If it is as you said then the language of my punishment is to blame, for it mentioned nothing about never approaching the subject. Tashmetu (talk) 11:45, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- You cannot make any edits related to the topic except for edit requests on article talk pages. I have removed the request at ARCA. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 13:05, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- OK thanks, would have been nice to make this clear in the original judgment.
- So what do I do with any edits that are related now? do I revert them, delete them or just leave them be? Tashmetu (talk) 13:09, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- Just leave them be and others can revert. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 13:16, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- I restored the request at ARCA, as I misread it earlier this morning. The request itself was not an ECR violation and didn't need to be removed. Sorry about that. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 15:11, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

Hi and belated welcome
I saw The Rise and Fall of a Palestinian Dynasty: The Husaynis, 1700–1948 which you wrote and just wanted to say thank you, and hello! I used to edit here years ago and took a long hiatus after it became too overwhelming. I noticed too that you have been quite badly bitten by the restrictions regime operating here. If you ever need anything, please let me know. My email is not enabled because it was mass spammed years ago with death and rape threats, causing me lose that entire account. But I could email you (if yours is enabled) if you ever need to vent privately. Hope you are not discouraged and that you will be allowed to edit again freely soon. Regards, Tiamut (talk) 07:20, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi.. I like your username! it’s not the same as Tiamat the Babylonian god, but close, I had considered that name before settling on my current one! would you indulge my curiosity and let me know why you chose this name?
- Anyway, thanks for the belated welcome and the commiseration, it was a bit scary at first but luckily I think I’ve been managing to stay away from trouble. Honestly I’d love to chat about things unrelated to Wikipedia, like Babylonian mythology, so you are more than welcome, my email is open. Tashmetu (talk) 06:26, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you! Email sent. It is a pleasure to meet you. And I hope we will collaborate on building articles here. Drop me a line if you think I can be of service. - OK I did not know I was interested in coins' history until now, it sounds fun, I'll have a look into it. I am currently trying to improve on the "Years in Palestine" series. It's a lot of work so would love it if more people joined, you seem well versed in the topic. It's just hard finding good references, I had a similar issue when doing the "Years in Iraq" series before quitting, so if you can suggest good historical references that list dates for the past 100 years in Palestine that would be quite helpful!
