Under his belt
Hello,
I've noticed that you are presently going through and purging the encyclopedia of the phrase "under his belt". While cliches and idioms should often be avoided in favor of direct language, please be sure to insert direct language in the place of the cliche when doing this. Just chopping the phrase out can make sentences be a bit hard-to-read at times.
— Red-tailed hawk (nest) 20:54, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- I am – other edits show that I'm changing the syntax when required. I felt that the sentence in C'est la Guerre read well enough without it. Your mileage has varied. *shrug* 81.2.123.64 (talk) 20:56, 23 November 2024 (UTC)

Fresa
There are no resources to it, I added the traits of a "fresa" in Mexico. As a Mexican myself I notices the previous definition focused it on an economic and education definition, which is based in examples from soap operas that are mocking the traits, I clarify the traits ARE what makes a person to be CONSIDERED a "fresa". Traits and can be from any social status. JoyLaur (talk) 15:59, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- One of our most important policies here is that we don't print anything unless it has a reliable source. We can't accept an edit that adds your personal experience. Recent reverts
Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Fishy-Finns (talk) 19:35, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- I already hit them with uw-vand4im on the first IP they were on, which they have seen, and then reported them to AIV. There is no point repeatedly templating them as they jump IPs. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 19:37, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, my bad. I was watching WP:AIV and RC but I didn't see that you mentioned they jumped IPs. I see now that you warned the original IP and then reported, which I didn't first look at. Sorry again :) Fishy-Finns (talk) 19:41, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

BOvejawdfjdslafj
Both in reverting and in your messages at user talk:BOvejawdfjdslafj you did close to what I was planning to do, but you got there first. Use of Grammarly is really so unhelpful. I suppose it may be helpful for someone with a very poor ability to write English, enabling them to at least somewhat reduce their error rate, but in the hands of someone with a low level of competence trying to "correct" something written and edited by more competent writers, it can be lethal. JBW (talk) 20:18, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Grammarly makes me shudder. You can always spot when an email (or, worse, a Wikipedia article!) has been run through it: the language becomes stilted and more specialised terms get bowdlerised. Painful! Thanks for rescuing what was useful in the changes. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 20:22, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
Legal issues
In a recent edit to the article Laurence Westgaph you wrote "Under the Article 17 of GDPR, Westgaph has the legal right to have his personal information about spent convictions removed from online search results and directories as they are spent and over 16 and 25 year old". I am not a lawyer, nor am I acquainted with every detail of the General Data Protection Regulation, but the following comments may be relevant. The General Data Protection Regulation has force in a large number of European countries, but the Wikimedia Foundation's servers are in the United States. A Wikipedia article is certainly not "online search results", and I doubt that is regarded as a directory for the relevant purposes. In any case, statements about what you think should or shouldn't be in an article belong in talk pages and other discussion pages, not in the article itself. JBW (talk) 00:10, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @JBW Unless I'm missing something, I'm pretty sure that 81 removed that line. It was added by another editor in Special:Diff/1275042841. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 00:26, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Minmi image fix
Hi, thanks for fixing it. I noticed it was a fair use image located at File:Minmihologramcdcover.png, and a rationale was not added on the image description page for use on the article Minmi. Should we just remove it, as it might possibly be a copyright violation (stated at File:Minmihologramcdcover.png#Licensing)? Myrealnamm's Alternate Account (talk) 13:04, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, yeah, it needs to go. Somehow it didn't penetrate into my brain that is was an album cover, despite the filename saying so! There's an argument to be made that we could make a fair-use declaration on the image page that would cover both usages, but I don't see it surviving scrutiny. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 13:08, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- I think the fair-use file can only be used if there is no free file that can replace it. One of the fair-use criteria is "Un-replaceable", I believe? I'll go look for a free alternative for the article, like a photo of the singer or something. Myrealnamm's Alternate Account (talk) 13:12, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

In regards to warning vandals
Hello,
I appreciate your recent revert on USB flash drive. However, I did notice that you forgot to warn the user in question. You clearly have experience with reverting vandalism, but please remember to use warnings. Thanks! drdr150 Yell at me Spy on me 17:39, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Was this vandalism? My feeling that it was good faith but wrong. There's no template for that – it wasn't even a test, it was just misguided. A warning in those circumstances is biting the new user, and since the revert was a matter of style rather than vandalism – and thus carried a specific edit summary – editorial in nature rather than vandal-fighting.
- Please don't warn new editors for making misguided but good-faith edits, if that's your practice. That's new-editor poison. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 17:44, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- The vandalism template for the first two warnings explicitly mentions being likely good faith. It is in continuing that it becomes clear if it is vandalism or not. drdr150 Yell at me Spy on me 17:46, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- You are still misusing those templates if you are using them for misguided good-faith edits by new users. Please stop. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 17:47, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

You would be well served to listen more and lecture less in this case, Drdr150.-- Ponyobons mots 17:52, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- This is also true for the discussion immediately above, where you are chatising this editor for removing unsourced, poorly-worded, contentious material while clearly noting why they were removing the material. WP:BURDEN is policy, and you're on the wrong side of it.-- Ponyobons mots 17:59, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- This editor deleted an unsourced claim. It was brought back with sources. The user got mad. That seems like an equally large violation of WP:BURDEN. drdr150 Yell at me Spy on me 18:02, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Despite telling you above that I did not want to take part in the fight you are attempting to pick with me, here you are again.
- It was brought back twice without sources. A source was then added a day later, which is clear from the edit history and was the end of the matter. Except you have decided this is a thread to continue to pull.

How can I put warning templates like many other editors here do? For common vandalism, kindly explain to me. Thanks! 113.165.191.209 (talk) 13:38, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- If you are looking for the templates, this page has an index of warning templates. It won't personalize for the article vandalized, I think but this should get you started. As someone with an account, I prefer using Twinkle so I can't give you the full lowdown about copying + pasting from the template index. ❤HistoryTheorist❤ 20:36, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

My Apologies
I would like to apologize for falsely accusing you for vandalism on the Microsoft Word page. I’m new here so I got confused. SouthParkFan100 (talk) 20:52, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- That’s fine. Perhaps you’ll now also stop going through my edits and wrongly reverting good ones in order to score points off me as well? As a “new” user, you may not know that this is frowned upon as well. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 21:00, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- No, I won’t revert you again. I deeply apologize. I do hope we can eventually become friends. SouthParkFan100 (talk) 21:07, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
